The Terrapin Family Band is scheduled to play on Wed 6/19, but I see no reason why they couldn't hop on a plane and be in Telluride for Thursday evening!

Because they're very particular about their gear, and it would have to come via Semi.

Then move Cheese to Thursday and let Phil play Friday, preferably with Furthur (if Bobby's better).

I think the switch of SCI to Thu headliner has already been made.  They may just decide to go in-house for that mid-day Fri slot(i.e. Emmitt-Nershi, Sam Bush and friends, Peart Near).

All great music, but I don't think they can just eliminate such a big name and not replace.

PHIL! PHIL! PHIL! It's been a looooong time since I chanted for box of rain and got Phil bomb tingles in my spine...

I am a thirty-year Deadhead.  That said...I'd rather see something else at Telluride, and SCI would be an easy call to make.

The other reason:  Phil would not have an adequate time slot, which really requires two sets totally three hours.

That is a sick lineup with Scofield and Medeski.  I'm going to throw out Railroad Earth as a more realistic replacement.  That would be a perfect bluegrass round up.

Actually, the lineup for this weekend is:

Phil Lesh, Stanley Jordan, Neal Casal, Jon Graboff, Cody Dickinson & Rob Barraco!

Speaking of Stanley Jordan, I believe he lives in Sedona & clearly had a GREAT time playing with SCI in Flagstaff last summer.  If you think he can't play bluegrass, listen to Rollin' In My Sweet Baby's Arms:

... maybe he'd be up for fronting a "Stanley Jordan Incident"?!?

Yeah but the scofield medeski Phil lineup is touring this summer as well.  That's the one I would sell most of my unborn children to see.

What am I missing? This lineup seems to have 4 guitar players and no drummer. Either way, both sets of musicians are awesome. I'm not holding out for them at TBF, but I'll be looking for the tapes from these respective tours.

Cody Dickinson is a drummer.  You were probably thinking about his bro Luth.

Duh. Sorry -- had a moment, there. I've seen incarnations of NMAS so many times, you'd think I wouldn't have made that mistake. Oh well.
