It seems like the only way to solve the tarp conundrum (prevent cheating, tarps too big etc) is to make the runners run wearing only their tarp...

Did I give you that Chicken suit?  It's not in the Tride pile or did I put in free box- now I need to go find it....LOL    I know we have a gorilla head somewhere too....

And a spare gorilla head?  Go girl!

Yes, you gave me that chicken suit last year, or the year before, I can't remember.  It's killer.  Let me know if you ever find the head for it.  Or was the chicken without a head thing intentional?

I'll be bringing my jedi robe with me once again. That is, if I don't think of anything better this year. Maybe we could get Hippy to run a tarp in his Santa outfit?

Why not go all out and have a three-legged or potato sack race (you get to choose) -- 100 numbers at a time -- for the tarp rush?

Just spoke with a local in front of La Cocina who told me he's now acquired a sort of Pavlovian response to the sound of bagpipes, but not in a good way ... hearing them in any old situation now makes him all jittery, nervous, and ready to compete.

"Festivarian spirit" can sure be an interesting beast with many faces, IMO.

Of course people will still have a good time if they're not in the 12th row ... a concept which should apply both ways.

I fully realize that tarp issues are a "1st world problem", so in the grand scheme of things there are certainly far more important things to worry about ... but this is not to say the "little things" can never be improved upon.

Every time I put on the Dropkick Murphys, Jaco (age 6) says, "You know what this reminds me of?"  And we all say, "Tarp Run!"

I wasn't denigrating the costumes I meant ONLY the tarp.

The 'throw down' will be revealing or intriguing (or horrifying)...

That Santa suit was one he borrowed from me and I'd rather not have the chance of it getting shredded due to a fall or push from someone. EEK!

How about  a chicken with a gorilla head?  That would actually make sense to a lot of people that early in the morning.  EEK! Wink Abduct
