I know that only low back chairs are allowed---is there a certain height that is considered low back?

"Low Back" is sort of a misleading term that is used.  Basically if you can roll a basketball underneath your chair then it's too tall.  I think the term "Low Profile" is a better description of the type of sitting devices the festival prefers.

and "low back chairs" are only required for the front half of the festival grounds, though they are encouraged everywhere...

These are my favorite concert chairs, and it'll give you an idea of what they're looking for:  http://www.rei.com/product/765270/rei-camp-stowaway-low-chair.

I agree, we have those REI Chairs, have had them for 4-5 years and give them a thumbs up. At night I put a fleece blanket on the bottom so my bottom is not cold. Flower

I love these chairs too and have owned maybe 6 (still have 3), but they don't seem to handle a lot of "aggressive use" a.k.a. my heavier-than-average festi friends and takes a little bit of care when setting them up to make sure the arm braces fit into the plastic clips to make the chair supported correctly.  Legs get bent pretty easily.

So true Hooch, i've also owned 4 of these chairs, like them alot, and as you said, the arms bend easily, that having been said, I like the "low profile" these chairs afford.  And they're comfortable!

This chair can a cup of new Belgium very securely even tho the pic doesn't show the beverage holder. I review this chair on REI's website a few years ago with festivating in mind and I've seen ton's of 'em at TBF and Rockygrass. They are super sturdy and easy to get out of.  I've had mine almost ten years and still got a few years of life left in it. http://www.rei.com/product/767169/gci-outdoor-wilderness-recliner-chair

They're great, and have a beverage holder.

Is this chair low enough?  http://www.rei.com/product/847188/rei-camp-x-chair-low

It looks to be about the same height as the other REI chair someone linked above.

7" seat height, so it is very festival friendly!
