looking to get tickets to one of the available camp sites left and trying to decide if i should go with lawson hill/ mary e illium, which requires a shuttle or high school camping which is no tobacco/ alcohol. if the shuttles ends before night grass ends then i definitely am going high school and will just have to deal with the tobacco/alcohol rule. thanks for any help!  Thumbs Up

Not sure about the shuttle situation, but worse comes to worse you COULD walk it to Lawson  ... it's about 2-3 miles.  (Illium definitely a bit furthur and more tricky to walk)

The shuttles run until about 2am.

Obviously, we don't want to leave loads of Festivarians in town as walking isn't the safest way to go...

Suffice to say that you could manage 98% of a NightGrass show and still make it on a shuttle.

Didn't intend to say that walking to Illium is a good idea ... DEFINITELY don't walk on the highway ...  there is a trail which runs through lawson hill and drops down into illium, but it'll be dark and there are some steep sections, bears, etc.

Lawson is more doable via the bike trail, but it could be a PITA unless you're up and have energy to burn.

Bar time runs a little fast, so when they shout "Last call for alcohol" it's time to head towards the shuttle stop. Cheers
They won't stop running if there's still people in line when that particular bus is full. They'll either call for another or make a return run when they empty out at the final destination. Flower
Best bet is to be at the shuttle stop as close to bar closing time as possible. Thumbs Up

Camp Run a Muck

I've never stayed at Lawson, but I did stay at Illium twice. It's a great area full of fun people and picking. So even if you have to leave the show early, you'll be able to find a great pick around a campfire (something that no other camp can offer) when you get back. The shuttle is a hassle, but over all, Illium is a great way to experience the festival.

Second that. If you can't stay in TP/Warner (or a condo), Illium is great.

One other thing to consider:  sunshine.  There's not much shade at the HS, and your tent will heat up to approximately 400 degrees by 10 am.  Or so it will seem!

Do you just need one camping ticket?  I have an extra high school pass I don't think I'll need.
