Festivarians are the best. I have some great news. My ticket issue has been resolved.  And a very important lesson was learned. Thanks for the step up to the plate to offer me those tickets. Hope to meet you all at the show.

Clap This is indeed great news! Also nice to see/hear of some TBF-XXXX ticket movement!  Thumbs Up
I also feel these e-mail tickets will make the 2013 trading/selling season a chilly one. Please all, be sure to continue to ask for, and provide those FestiReferences whenever needed.  Cheers

I am down for a meet up. 4 days of shows, sun, beer. Plenty of time to catch up. I was able to get my tickets placed at Will Call, to avoid any e-mail ticket issues for the future. I will say, Planet Bluegrass was incredibly understanding and sympathetic to my situation. I am very grateful to them. Now, just let me know details regarding how to meet up with ya'll and any other Festivarian willing to meet up. I already have my condo plans in full swing!!!

That depends on when you plan to arrive.
The Monday afternoon before festival we all gather at Smugglers and take over the patio.
If you're not there yet there's always the festivarian photo shoot the first day of the festival when we all gather in between the beer booth and the country store around 6 PM for our annual picture. Cheers

Otherwise, hold up a sign saying "Festivarian Virgin" and we'll find you. LOL

Anyone from PB in here to give some advice? Ms. Marie brings up a GREAT IDEA...thank you so much Ms. Marie for actively contributing to the discussion. This is exactly what I was looking for when I started this thread. I was worried it was going to digress into the "I've attended the festival every year since it started" entitlement talk. So greatly appreciate the GOOD IDEA!

Now to the question for PB: If I were to purchase a ticket that was previously emailed, could I switch the ticket to will call? As part of that switch, could I get a confirmation that the electronic ticket is no longer valid and only the will call ticket remains valid? Or will the electronic ticket still be usable?

Is PB willing to sit in on 3-way calls to accomplish cancelling electronic tickets and reissuing the same tickets at will call? Will this be an option or are we left to trust alone? I feel this is the ONLY SAFE route to go...Festi-references or not. I don't want to walk up to PB volunteer to scan my ticket I rightfully paid for in the aftermarket only to have them tell me...that ticket is no longer valid it looks like it was already scanned...

Hey who isn't interested in a three-way?

Last year in a mondo (mondo burger!!) trade I helped in setup between Deb/Scott/everybody in the whole world it seemed, I know that the provenance of the tickets was verified by PBG along with the serial #'s etc before we did the trade, so they are definitely willing to go the extra mile to help us out.

Sorry Erick. I hadn't replied to this thread simply because we've been over this a couple of times already on the forum.

In short, yes.

Ms. Marie's comment below is pretty spot on.

There is some trust to be had with this system, but there was before too.  If you stick to the forum I doubt you'd have too many issues.  I sold my extra tickets by putting them in the buyer's name for will call.  They called PB and double check it was really in their name and paid me.  So, as the seller I was willing to take the leap of faith they'd actually pay me (and of course they did!).

If you want to buy from a stranger, do a three-way call to PB and have the ticket put at will call in your name (it takes about 1 minute to do this).  Anyone who isn't willing to do that isn't someone you want to  buy from.

In fact, we encourage you to call us and secure your ticket at will call. it's the only way to truly ensure the ticket you're purchasing is yours. Anyone not willing to spend a couple of minutes to do this for you should immediately send up a red flag.

EDIT: We will discontinue the voiding of bar-codes and switching to will call on Monday, June 17th! No bar-codes will be voided and switched to will call beginning on that date.

Cheers

D.

I plan to get there the 19th. Flying in from San Antonio. Will be my 4th TBG Festival. Still a baby festivarian!! But growing into a bigger one every year.  I cant wait.

From experience. As long as your name is attached to the billing, you can switch at anytime to will call. I recently went through this whole debacle. However, somehow my name was not under the account. I was able to prove through my credit card company I was the sole account holder to my credit card. Yes PB will do a 3-way call to your credit card company and they are happy to do so. I did not get an e-mail confirmation that it was switched. But, I have trust in PB. The person who tried to steal my tickets got an e-mail that their ticket was no longer valid. Trust me. I got an angry text message this morning from said individual.

Good Luck.

Oops I just realized you were not talking about a three way with you, PB and credit card company. My bad. But, I was told from PB that all parties involved in the tickets need to be in contact with PB.

Sorry
