Not sure if this has been commented on yet but it's basically equivalent to the Nobel prize.  Congrats Mr. Thile, you done earned that puppy!

He is a masterful musician and I am glad he is recognized for his talent. But really a part of me wants to hear him play Jazz on the Mandolin. His riffs suggest it lies just beneath his skin.... Medal
