well, that was certainly what i wanted to do is car camp for our 9 month old.  no one mentioned any special spaces for such, even as much as i complained   huh

seems like there was definitely a gap there in the info.

ahhh well, hope the masses arent too upset by this.  is there enough room for all the passes is the question.

There is enough room for the cars...it's usually crowded in MP, and unfortunately the town has added a few features which limit the space around the grassy area's we can use with cars/camping. (rocks lining the field, etc...) It's a give and take, I guess...the park gets prettier, but we lose a bit of space.

Dustin is brave and intrepid for trying to figure this last minute stuff out for us.

Not that it's Dustin's fault, but the website does say "All vehicles will be parked in surrounding areas including the ballfield."

So obviously there's a communication breakdown with the Town of Lyons.  For those of us who were counting on car camping, the answer seems to be "too bad."  Since that's the case, this is just a plea for Planet Bluegrass to refund vehicle pass purchases for those of us who bought a vehicle pass based on the website info.

The description of the restoration project just said no parking by the river.  Drats.  We used to get to park on the field...  Now I've got to get an extra tent.

I'm still working on it.

FYI

I'll have something for you tomorrow.

It seems that last year's Rockygrass may have swayed the position of vehicles on the ballfield.

Remember, if we do put cars on the field to watch for sprinklers, and respect the park. Leave no trace...Wink

Till tomorrow...

Still got a whole week to go. LOL

Argh

I hope everyone has a wonderful Rockygrass experience, regardless of where you end up camped.

Cheers

Well somewhat good news, but I need to know when this happens.  I would like to go up there and move my truck next to my tent.  I appreciate you helping us out, but please please let us know when this happens.

never had a situation where going early was bad in the long run! LOL

Dustin rules.  Medal

Cars on the field or off - doesn't matter.  It's the consistency that counts.  That, and the fact that folks like Dustin are working their tails off to provide the highest quality festivating environment possible.

Dustin, you're my 2007 Planet Bluegrass Hero.  I made plans last night with a friend in Boulder who's headed down there today to set up.  We're gonna be fine either way, with the van or without, on the field or off.  Your diligence in trying to get the experience to meet the expectations (and the published rules) is awesome.

See you at the Festival (and I'll make good on the beer I mentioned).

Poster,
My Boulder friend is going to Meadow Park after work today, so I'll let you know what I hear when I get word from her this evening.

Thanks Bevin, I just hope I can get to my tent with my truck by the time i get up there.  im right along the road on the north side of the ballfield, right oustide the in-field...so it should be easy to get to.

So you're on the grassy field, out in the sun, like I usually am.  In the past, if I recall correctly, the grassy sunny field is the last place to fill in.  Usually there's plenty of room for tents (and vehicles) until late on Thursday when it all starts to fill up.  But I've never felt like the grassy field was crowded.  It's those shady spots by the river that get crowded.

good to hear.  we bought a sun shade thing for this thinking we'd end up in the sun.  like i said, when i showed up at 9am monday, all the river spots were way gone.  there wasnt even activity around the tents, they'd been set up for a while i think.

thanks for the info too!

No vehicles on the Meadow Park baseball field.

It is what it is, and apparently what it has been for at least a year.

I hope everyone has a great festival. Concert

Cheers.
