Fleet Foxes (would be an epic ring through the box canyon!)

I'm going to have to disagree with this one.   No more 70's soft-rock please :)

Sorry, but I just don't get this comment -- Who do you purport to be comparing them to, from recent years?

I don't mean to sound horribly defensive or negative; obviously, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but it was a weird experience, after several years of posting here, to see a random negative on the suggestions board based on one of my comments. I just thought Fleet Foxes' organic, acoustic brand of folk-rock would fit well with some of the outlying edges of the Telluride lineups I've seen, perhaps at one of the twilight sets. I've hardly heard a band who harmonizes as effectively as FF, and their increasingly complex song structures I thought would be appreciable to our crowd. I was down on them at first, but they've really grown on me -- instead of boxing them up, I'd recommend giving them another shot!

At first listen, they remind of Seryn this year.   And when I listen to either of their albums, I reach the same point:   It's interesting at first, but within 2-3 songs i grow bored with it.

I don't know if anyone on this bored caught the MTV VMA's, but after seeing how many awards they won, I'm thinking that the 2013 TBF would be well served with a performance by One Direction.  The energy of these kids is amazing, and there's nothing wrong with song after song after song about girls.  That song, "What Makes You Beautiful (is that you don't know that you're beautiful)" would have the entire TBF crowd up on their feet.

They are very talented singers AND dancers, and I get goose pimples just thinking how DREAMY they would be in person, ESPECIALLY if we could get them to do a performance workshop in Elks Park.

The only thing that would be better is if they were joined on the Main Stage by Emmylou Harris and Sam Bush.  Or George Michael.

Well if it's great harmonizing you want, my Dad has a sensational  barbershop quartet called the Flattop Warblers. They recently won the Tri-State Barbershop Association , group of the year! I listened to the Fleet Foxes and found them boring but the Flattop Warblers never fail to light up any senior homes they play. I think they would kill it on the Shellman stage. I'll try to post some video soon!

Just out of curiosity Huck, who is your fav Band huh

Gee...do Ihave to have one?  I guess over the last few decades, my *favorite* band is the GOGD (Good ole' Grateful Dead).  But Other "favorite" bands that have survived the test of time:  Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Bela Fleck (With or without the 'Tones), Zappa, Miles Davis, Alison Krauss, John Prine, Russ Barenberg, Michael Franti, The Brand New Heavies....it goes on and on

Tim and Darrell are doing another album together, so I really think we should get them to play a set together. Tim's going to be there, and Darrell should be there, so why not put them together for a set?

Yes, please!  The potential for seeing this was one of the reasons I was so upset to miss Targhee this year.  (Sugar, were you there?  Did Tim and Darrell do anything together?)  Anyway, Real Time is one of my favorite albums ever.  I can't wait to get their new one, and I'd love to see them at Telly next year.

I was there. Sadly, Darrell left before Hot Rize got there, so they didn't play together at all. It was still an excellent weekend, though.

I do agree as well but I have a concern about that.... I really do like to listen to Tim and the D man in a smaller venue. Their sound is one on one kind of and that Tride stage swallows up the impact of some. I really would like to see PBG roll forward some potted evergreens or ? to pull the stage in behind some performers. It would feel more intimate. I am no expert, but it just seems some performers are more impactful on a smaller stage. I want to hear every word and listen close . I love the D man and Tim so anyway you serve it up it will be good for me.
