How far is parking from TP? We are upgrading this year to a air mattress versus a egg crate on the ground.  I am trying to figure out the best way to fill it.

I am a 10 year vegetarian who is pregnant is enjoying bacon these days.....I might have to bring supplies for choc dipped bacon. Sounds devilishly good!

@ Santa Fe Sue, gray water is probably best disposed of at one of the bath houses, in Town Park there are places we can dump it around the trees and such but you will be on a fenced in baseball field. it will be flat and nowhere to hide it. DO NOT DUMP IT IN THE PORT-O-JOHNS! you will soon regret it when they overflow!

@ Colorado Mama, parking can be anywhere from 100 yards to 5 miles and a gondola ride. bring a battery or manual powered pump. you may be able to plug in and inflate at the bath house but I wouldn't count on it. every year more and more stuff IE: phone chargers , lap tops, tooth brushes, cameras, cpap machines gets plugged in there. I'm surprised they don't blow a fuse?

Arriving to town Wed late morning with my two kids (7&9), girlfriend, and mom...all of which are TBF virgins.  We were lucky enough to score town park camping though the lottery.  Any suggestions for camping locations?  I am well aware it would be ideal to arrive on Monday or Tuesday but we are flying in from Fort Lauderdale so it's not possible.

 Wave Welcome...
we'll have plenty of space available for you and your family! Just check in with one of the camps located around the bathrooms in town park.

This might be a dumb question, but...

I am getting to Telluride (camping in Town Park) on Tuesday afternoon and will need to get to a coffee shop to work for part of the day Wed and Thurs.  That means that I will have to have my computer with me and I just don't know how to deal with that situation.  I don't feel comfortable keeping it in my tent but I also don't want to have to leave it in my car outside of town and then shuttle out to pick it up, back to work, then back out again to drop it off.  It's going to be hard enough to work as it is without the extra time and energy of shuttling back and forth!

Any suggestions?  Is there anywhere safe in town I could leave it overnight?  Is parking super far away?

I'd appreciate any advice!

Very much looking forward to a second festival in a row... I vaguely remember signs last year at the festival itself (not the campgrounds) that tent stakes were not permitted for your tarp?
Maybe mis-remembering, if not - what are other acceptable methods. I also remember saving my neighbors tarp a few times during an early set in the wind...

Cheers

I use nails with washers attached to the end to secure our tarp at the festival.  That way they are flush with the ground and don't stub toes.   Tent stakes stick up too high.

Plenty of people stake down their tarps.  I think there is a limitation on the length of the stakes you can use due to underground irrigation pipes.  Use short stakes.

When you arrive find some kids and ask their parents where the "quiet" spots are.  Also many people (including me) use earplugs when we *finally* decide to sleep.

My kids and I will be at the High School camping.  Can we get to the Town Park Public pool without town park camping passes?
