That path by the river is very nice. That's where I usually go after hiking to soak my feet, or grab a cold brew at the store and smoke a nice cigar, so as not to annoy the folks around me on the tarps. And if the ticket deities do shine on us, I will take my cigars to the river again so as not to drive my fellow campers to distraction.  Evil

Just for being so cool. hunt me down and I'll buy you a beer  Thumbs Up

Hey everyone, good to meet y'all on the line. First time poster / TBF attendee here, thanks for all the helpful info in this thread and others. I have a couple of questions I could not find answers for and I was hoping you could help me out with. In the pictures I have seen of the fest it looks like mostly everyone is sitting down, i was wondering if it is a faux pas to stand for the music at TBF? Don't get me wrong I like to sit down and let the music envelope me sometimes too, but I would have a hard time not wanting to boogie to the likes of Yonder, Greensky and Salmon.

I'm sure this gets asked a lot but I was wondering what peoples experiences have been trying to trade for tickets for various nightgrass shows. Obviously it is a pretty competitive marketplace, but do a lot of trades happen? I ask as I am in a group of 3 and I understand that lottery tickets are assigned in pairs, so I am expecting to have to do a fair bit of trading myself.

Also, I was wondering if there is any period during the festival when people who do not have Town Park tickets (we are in Lawson Hill)  can go check that area out? I've heard it's awesome and would love to check it out even if we can't stay! Thanks for any advice.

Wave Howdy Wave Welp if you have Town Park Tickets get ready to be embraced by many smiles and friendly fun loving folk. You may stroll about and introduce yourself any time before Thursday. Lots of fun things to contribute to and join in.

Getting your groove on is a good good thing and shaken it out on a steady bases is advised you shake it on over to the dance area by the sound booth. Some butts block entire sets LOL So explosions of fast dancing is aloud when you just can not contain! But steady rockin is uncool in someone face for extended periods of time. I must say though when the entire crowd starts to boogie welp ya just cannot keep a good tune down. Now I'm getting excited.

Nightgrass Ticket Exchange. Lots just watch the forum and as we get a tad closer to Fest the board starts to become active. But make sure to watch and post in the correct Tab. Ticket Exchange.

See you in June Thumbs Up

Once the festival has started you will not be allowed to enter the Town Park campground without a Town Park pass.

If you want to check it out you'll have to get there before Thursday when you'll be able to stroll through but not stay overnight. Flower

Thanks for the info. Glad to know there is a designated area for those that wanna boogie. We are arriving Tuesday so we'll make sure to stop by on Wednesday during the day to check it out. We were also thinking of taking a hike up to the falls that day too. Does anyone know what day the shuttle from Lawson to the high school starts?

Don't worry about Yonder, Greensky or Salmon. The last several years, when those bands have been on, almost everyone has been on their feet dancing. The last two sets of each night are generally spent on your feet as well, and I'd imagine that Salmon will be closing out one of the nights. I've also found that, as long as your respectful, you can get away with some dancing on the tarp during the daytime sets. If you plan on dancing for the entire set, you'll want to head over by the soundboard, though.

I'm curious how tough the bike trail ride is from the festival to Lawson Hill?  I read that folks are encouraged to bring a bike, but didn't know if that is a difficult ride, or fairly common, or if the shuttle service is the better way to go?  Never been to Telluride, coming from Fort Collins and I can't wait!!

the bike trail ride is paved.  it's a nice ride, really.  just long, 35-45 min if I remember right.  and far.  and even longer after a nightgrass show.

Planet Bluegrass does not release new tickets; they resale those tickets and passes that have been returned.

Resale can be found here and takes place Tuesday usually starting around 12pm mountain:

We're flying to Denver...arriving Tuesday at 7:30 pm.. rental car....Should we drive  all night ? We're lucky to have Town Park camping......couldn't afford the flights  to closer airports.........

We think it might be better if we buy   tents/bags/pads in Montrose (pre ordered) rather than paying to check as baggage...... too much stress!

Why did  I   ever enter this lottery?

I would drive part way at least. It will be tough to find gear in the middle of the night, but at least you'd get there early in the day. Thumbs Up

HI!

I was wondering if there will be any more town park camping tickets released. And if not, how difficult will it be for me to find two before it's game time? I've never been to this festival before but I got a volunteer spot this year and am looking forward to checking it out.

Thanks!
