newbie question about all of the junk you are allowed to tote into the fest grounds.  i've seen a few posts about sunshades and screens and such.  are these allowed at the back of the crowd or something?

i have tarp, blankets, low-back chairs, cooler, etc. but wanted to clarify if something like a sunshade is indeed allowed?  and, if so, where?

question #2:  i'm with 3 friends with town park camp passes and we have a vehicle pass.  how big is a typical base-camp set-up?

thnx friends!

You can set up sunshades in the back.  There are signs telling you where they can go.  Yes, you can bring coolers into the fest grounds....just no glass or liquor allowed.  Camps vary in size in Town Park.  It all depends on when you get there, as to the size of the camp.  Just know that tents get put up all over in there, so if there is an empty spot somewhere, it will get used!  Vehicle passes aren't helpful or useful at all unless you have a van or something you are sleeping in...or a camper.   Cheers

Just to clarify a couple of things....

Coolers are fine but glass and alcohol (not just liquor) are prohibited.

The Town Park Vehicle pass is not something you want if you don't have a camper or are sleeping in your car. If you just have a regular car, find someone who needs the vehicle pass for health reasons/ kids/ etc...

Dustin isn't kidding about the vehicle pass.  Unless you are in Town Park already, that vehicle pass will be more of a limiter and a liability than anything else.

to reiterate the reiteration, you don't need a vehicle pass unless you have to sleep in your vehicle. that doesn't mean you can sleep in you car. there is a shortage of vehicle passes and those in need of them are truly needing them. sunshades are cool at the back of the festival grounds, you'll need to get there fairly early to find a spot, they go rather quickly. as for you and your 3 friends, don't hesitate to come join in all the prefest activities in town park. we love virgins, and as Bevin stated, (not to beat a dead horse) if you don't need the vehicle pass, it could actually hinder you. welcome to the fold and see you in a few days

sweet ya'll!  thanks for the useful tips.

as for the vehicle pass, my 70 year-old bluegrass lovin mother is joining me 2 nights and so i'm driving up a camper. she says not sleeping on the ground until she's dead.    Flower

i didn't realize how coveted these things are, so I'm super-grateful for it AND would love to participate in any virgin festivities.

**also, anyone reading this post, i have a solar panel set-up on my camper and will happily charge up any phones, computers, i-devices if someone needs it!

namaste friends,
Stine
