I've noticed the VIP section in the very front of the stage.  How does one get tickets for that?

I think you are required to marry one of the performers or at least have their baby to make it into VIP.

Hooch is right. (who said that?Fish

Become a famous bluegrass musician, marry one, be the child of one, sponsor the festival or work for Planet Bluegrass.

That's NOT a V.I.P. Section you're seeing. It's the 'Friends and Family Section", cordoned off by a snow fence, lovingly known by the Festivarian Nation as....

"The Poser Pit"

It's the only bad seat in the house!  LOL Big time neck crankin' to see the stage from there, and the speaker sound blows right past ya!  LOL

They do have scruples regarding the VIP section. i'm a rich as*hole who offered considerable money to Planet Bluegrass to have access to the section, and their response was "sorry Mr Rich As*hole, access is not for sale at any price." so while you may suggest they are poseurs, most are there because of a ligitimate connection to the festival...

Ya know what's really cool about Planet Bluegrass, everything Medal Medal Medal

I remember when the poser pit(for family, friends and staff) was empty one night and they let the first row in. Flower

It was so gracious and kind but I must admit, it was hard not to want to stand and wiggle to the music. Medal

Does having been paired up with Bryan Sutton by chance on the golf course two years ago qualify me for access to the Poser Pit?  Wink

That's cool, I just thought it would be a nice gift for my parents for a set or two if it was available.  Since I have to father a musicians child to get in there, does anyone have Laura Marling's phone number? LOL LOL LOL

I considered volunteering, but I couldn't get there early enough to make the volunteer meeting, and the thought of missisng one of the shows I really wanted to see didn't sit well with me.  This is the only vacation I get this year, so I really just wanted to enjoy it.

Also, it wasn't for me.  I thought it would be a nice fathers day gift.
