hey everyone. have not seen the mary e camping area before and wanted to ask about the ground and how accommodating and level the area is? We need a fairly large tent to accommodate the family and we are concerned about having too large a foot print to achieve a level floor throughout. Any thought or experiences with this topic from anyone out there? Pipe 2 and can anyone send some pics of the campsite area?

There is plenty of space, but that depends on how early you arrive.  I'm not sure when Illium camping officially opens for festivarians but I do know that by Wednesday evening things start to get much tighter.  Eventually everyone will be on top of everyone else, but if you are able to get there Tuesday or as early as possible on Wednesday you will have a much better chance of finding your "perfect" spot.

Also, if you can find a space that has trees to East (towards the road) of you, you will wake up in the shade as the sun rises, rather than in an oven getting baked by the sun. Thumbs Up

Thanks Dave! I appreciate the info. We are going to be there Saturday morning, the day the camping opens. We are considering a family sized tent and I just want to make sure it will work with a large footprint. Any more info is awesome.  Cheers

You will be fine with any size tent. If you don't set up near shade trees, consider rigging a tarp or ez up. Sun comes up early!!! Also will help if there's a sprinkle or 2. Something else to consider. Shuttle buses don't start running til Wed. Morn. Same w/ showers at the high school. Your vehicle will be land locked ( if you have vehicle pass) by Tues probably. Bring some type of shower/ bathing option to get you to Wed. That means bring water too, as the campground water tank doesn't show up til Tues. / Wed. If I recall. Maybe Dustin can confirm. You'll be glad you did.... And so will your neighbors !!
