Quote
* Sam Bush Band
* Telluride House Band featuring Sam, Béla, Jerry, Edgar, Bryan & Stuart
* Yonder Mountain String Band
* Béla Fleck &  The Marcus Roberts Trio
* Punch Brothers

Excited about these... Not really any of the others, though.

Hopefully the forthcoming additions include a few of the artists I've been wanting to see.  All of the ones I'm excited about (besides the Marcus Roberts Trio), I've already seen multiple times...

Same ole TBF line-up. It's great don't get me wrong, but no surprises so far(any one of these acts play there every other year).  I'm hoping Planet Bluegrass is saving all the goodies for the official announcement.  If the Beach Boys are one of those bands, it looks as if I'll hold out until next year's 40th TBF.  Blues and Brews here I come!

I'm actually hoping for that Beach Boys announcement, and I have a few friends who might be more likely to want to go if that happens (though tickets would probably sell out before they commit anyways).

But really, Punch Brothers are my favorite band right now, and Bela Fleck my favorite musician, so as long as they are on the lineup, everything else is just gravy.

Oh, Mandhoe, you keep that up you might hurt my feelings!

Blues is great, but, um, really?

And, may I humbly say, I hope you don't think we've told you all our plans!

So you go get those blues tix and forego Bluegrass.

But, do so at your own risk. Cuz... well....

There probably is some reason that 4 day passes will be gone by 2012.  I'm not sure what it is.

But, I do know, that, particularly this year, its like a whole community is clairvoyant.

Which is weird.

But, me, I'm taking the rest of the year "off".  Taking kids, mom, sister to Telluride skiing. (hey, shouldn't I get a break on ski passes?  :) )

And, then, Mandhoe, my mission will be to turn you.  :)

BUT, I will say, our "preliminary lineup" already features more grammy nominations than any festival in the country will approach.  I guess that's not very humble.

But, I do think its a nice start, don't you?

:)

LOVE TO YOU AND ALL,

Ferg

 Wave

We love you too, Ferg. You go and enjoy that white gold Telluride is known for! :)

I'd love to see some photos of that delicious gravy that has blessed the San Juan's so far this year. (I took the 10 hr trip to Wolf Creek about a month ago and it was stupendous!)

Happy Holidays, y'all!

 Thumbs Up

Oh no!  I hurt Mr. Ferguson's feelings in only my 2nd post on the festivarian forum.  Sorry man, that's sacrilegious!  The line-up is great as is, however, I was just hoping for a HUGE announcement right off the bat.  I appreciate that you're trying to persuade me(which if you do, would be my 9th TBF in a row), but I just need a little extra(it's a big investment).  Can we get at the very least, a lil hint?  I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Neil Young(or Buffalo Springfield), Ryan Adams(again, but acoustic), SCI, Wilco, White Denim, Willie Nelson. The list goes on and on.

I would kill for a Jay Farrar project to be involved in one of the announcements.  Kill.

White Denim!??

what the heck, man?

I love the band, but for TBF...come on..

And SCI,....no way does the family want to put up with those kind of freaks that music brings....maybe before 2002 when they were still good.

Phish doing an all bluegrass show would be a better idea, and that is still not a good presence at the fest.

Agreed, though it would be cool to see SCI, I feel the same way. And Phish shows are epic in their own right...no need to bring down hordes of the "unticketed" upon us. Not to mention the nitrous mafia nitwits.

C'mon Bro Piscapo, it doesn't hurt to have some variety at a music festival.  I'm sorry you harbor ill feelings towards SCI and their fans, but you're wrong.  I agree that from 2004- up until Nov of this year, SCI wasn't good.  Have you heard any recordings from their recent tour though? They're killing it now!  As far as their fans go; they're much better people(as a whole) than Phish fans.  So you wouldn't be down for the others on my wish list as well?(Neil Young, Ryan Adams, Willie, Wilco, Bon Iver)
