Hey all! So a little background, I have been attending festivals the last 4 years (Bonnaroo, Coachella, Sasquatch, Lollapalooza) and recently have gone away from attending these high attendance festivals. My girlfriend introduced me to Telluride and it looks like a wonderful time, something in which I am very excited to partake in and experience.

With that said, we bought our 4 day passes and Mary E camping/vehicle pass yesterday, and are looking to start a little dialogue for those Mary E campers that are getting into town early and might possibly want to plan ahead and prepare a communal campsite. We did the same thing at Bonnaroo where people would share certain items, and it made the packing much easier and less stressful.

We are driving from Rochester, MN and have about 28 hours of driving ahead of us, and hope to be in Telluride sometime on that Sunday before the festival.

You will find that Telluride is a much different environment than the big festivals, in a very very good way. i have camped in pary E in the past and it is a BLAST, im in town park this year, but im sure you will find a bunch of awesome people.

You're gonna love it.  I'm a MN native, who's been to a lot of festivals and there's nothing like TBF! 

Mary E is a nice spot, and if you get there early you will have no problem finding some friends to hang with.  There are some really nice communal style tree covered spots there, I'd join you, but I'm staying at Warner this time.

     JoeBu is right your going to love it. This is my third year at TBF and third year at Mary E.  Don't know if I ever stay anywhere else. In my humble opinion it is one of the best places to be! We hope to be there a couple of day's early also, so there will be plenty of time to "meet the neighbors".

Hello

This is also my first year and I want to camp in the Mary E campgrounds.  I have a 19' long trailer and I am reading that there's a 22' vehicle length limit.  Clearly with my tow vehicle I will be longer than 22' but can I drop the trailer and park the tow vehicle somewhere else?  Do I need a vehicle permit for the trailer and the truck?  Are there campgrounds in the area not listed by the official event list that would work ok for our group?  there will be 4 adults, my 6 year old and possibly a dog if they're allowed in the campgrounds during the fest.  Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Dogs are not allowed, so leave him at home, or find one of the kennels in town to make arrangements.

As far as length, the 22' limit is in place more as a guideline of what can make it into Mary E.  There is a big turn in the entrance road, and a vehicle bigger than 22' might have trouble with it.  I'd imagine that with a camper in tow, you'll be fine.  Once in the campground, you'll either need 2 vehicle passes, or need to park the camper and drop the truck up on the road where free parking is.  In addition to the vehicle pass, each person (except for the 6 year old, I believe) will need a camping pass.

Drop the tow and park the truck/car for free.

The kid is free, but will get his own wrist band when you get your wristband. Be prepared for him to try and keep wearing it for 6 months after the fest!

Hey Chris
Good idea to start a thread for camping in Illium.  I'm a newbie to the festival myself and a pretty back to basic camper so might be nice to kind of pool some resources.  I'm either going solo or if I can get 1 more pass bringing my  non-camping city gurl bff who is already trying to come up w/excuses to get out of camping bahahaha
