I have camping and festival passes just to attend Saturday and was planning on arriving on Fri evening to set up camp. However, everyone on this forum talks about how important it is to arrive on Thursday to find a good camp site. Are me and my family screwed if we arrive on Friday? Are we doomed to wander, camp-site-less and alone?

It doesn't really matter...

No matter where you are camping, it will be tight by the end of the first day as most people will already be there. Meadow Park does have more in and out people (coming for only one or two days).

However, you are not "screwed". There will be space for you, but your options will be limited.
