After another great Rockygrass weekend, I was standing near the shower building late Sunday night.  The show had just closed and most people had left, but there were a few small groups and lone stragglers left.  The vendor vehicles were coming in when one girl shouted to the driver "Do we really need vehicles in here already", as if it somehow ruined her night. 

It reminded me of my days when I was a vendor here.  I think this girl and most people forget that, for the vendors, this is just another day at the office, in between full weeks of work.  I think most people know this, but that sarcasm just rang really wrong to me.

Being a vendor at Rockygrass is not fun.  There is a joke amongst all of the vendors about how poorly we are treated at Rockygrass when compared to other shows on the circuit.  Next year go up and ask a vendor how they are treated by PB...For all the love and harmony they promote, you will be shocked.  Saddly there is not enough room here.

i met vendors who enjoyed the event. As to the girl, it sounds like she just wasn't ready to get her festi-bubble burst as opposed to any anti-vendor sentiment.

How about some constructive criticism? Who hurt you friend??

I'm sorry you feel that way, BizSale.

I agree that for the vendors it's another day at the office and Festivarians should respect the fact that they are working, but I wholeheartedly disagree with you about the vendors not being treated well.

We've had the same person dealing with vendors for the better part of 10 years, and I've never heard a vendor complain about how they are treated.

Act professionally, and you get treated professionally.

There's really nothing else to it and I'm sure that most, if not all, the vendors would agree.

I don't really care to start name calling, or continue this conversation at all really, but I did want to voice my disagreement with your comments.

To me the vendors do a great job.  The food and items for sale are good and the vendors have a great attitude.  It must have been late Sunday night because I stayed until the end of Sam and the vendors were still selling stuff at that time. 

On a side note, if I had worked there all weekend for 12 or so hours a day I would want to get packed up and out of there as soon as possible, too.  We all have other places to be on Monday.  And, how many guitar cases is the Colorado case guy selling at 10:30 on Sunday night? (just an example)

In either case I had another great time at RockyGrass and if all the girl can complain about is a vendor vehicle then she must have had a great time, too.

Speaking of vendors ~ I got COMPLETELY ADDICTED to the 2 sisters booth with the chicken basil potstickers and the fried wontons with creme cheese and the chili honey sauce...omg... I'm seriously going thru withdrawals ~ the lady who ran the booth told me they have a website and that I could order them and have them shipped to Los Angeles ~ anyone happen to know the website address for them?  I would be eternally grateful..  Let me know thanks.  I too think the girl didn't want her festy bubble popped either....  I think come sunday night/monday morning, you just don't want it to end.  I had SUCH an amazing time and think she was having an "emo" moment...  Thanks to Planet Bluegrass, the hardworking vendors and just the wonderful people of Colorado for making this (my very first) RockyGrass Academy & Festival a fabulous experience   ~ Mary a.k.a StarryNightDiva
