On the way home this year, the car broke down on Monarch pass with me and three others (Mel, Hot Mess, and Tom). We had to get towed back to Gunnison. Instead of riding in the cab like normal people, we piled into the car on the back of the flat bed tow truck and waved at drivers and pedestrians as we passed. Their faces were priceless!!!
Oh no!  That's a bummer Sugar, hope everyone made their flights okay. Sure was great to see all ya'll.

I looked at it like another adventure and enjoyed every minute of it. There is so much more to that story that I might get around to typing up later. It was fantastic.

Have no fear, Hotcakes is now here! Cheers  I too broke down (car) on the way home but it still hasn't dampened my spirits.  Festival is what makes my whole year better.  I think being serinaded was my best memory.

What??  Two breakdowns going home?  Something must be telling us we shouldn't try to leave in the first place.   Wink

Came home to a broken fridget full of rotted food.  So still living out of our cooler!  Keeping a small part of the experience going, anyway.

Wow, Skubes, that blows!  I'm glad all my weird festival crap happens pre-fest.

Best TBF memories were made this year.   My wife and I went up to Bridal Veil and had a ceremony on Saturday morning to renew our vows in celebration of our 10-year anniversary.  My wife and I had our 4 year old boy and 14 month old girl with us which was wonderful, both of our parents were there and our best friends from Kansas City were there.  It was a very special morning and a very special festival.  It will be very hard to top but I am willing to go back and give it a try!

During John Fogerty, 4 of us (elders) were ripping up our dance tarp havin g ablast singing and dancing to hit after incredible hit.  There were a bunch of youngsters around us and they were diggin on our "vibe".  2 great things were said, one was directly to us and the other not for us to overhear.  The first to us was "You give us (meaning the younger generation) hope"  How sweet was that.  Secondly, this is funny, one young girl turns to her friend when John stopped and said "Wow those people will probably have to have a protien bar now to make it to the next show."  It cracked us up.  We just kept on dancing to Leftover and no protein bars were needed, just some awesome music.  Had a great time.

3 chord's and a story that's me

URL icon « Reply #507 on: July 08, 2012, 08:07:51 AM »

I met a man named Russell and he shared a story with me, his story. Our paths crossed at Fest and I am so glad . His story was that he drove in on his Harley, sunbaked and tired. As we spoke to each other he began to unfold, felt at ease with me a stranger. A new friendship, I could feel it growing right before my eyes. He shared that his life was headed in the wrong direction and that out of no where his troubled female friend, gave him her baby as she was unable to care for her.
He took that baby girl and turned his life around, sober and clean and headed on the peaceful path. He finally took off his shoes and what do I see. Pink toenails on a rugged Harley man. We laughed and he said, every month he takes his little girl to the Beauty Salon for a Mani/Pedi and haircut. And she always cries out, come on Daddy, it's fun, so he does. A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Medal

Our paths would of never crossed and thank you PBG, I am a better women for meeting you Russell. Thank you for sharing your story with me. Sunshine
