I'll make sure to post a pic soon and they can squirt me ANYTIME. My hairs not perfect, my clothes are wet and dusty, my feet have grit between the toes,,, are you kidding, PLEASE SQUIRT MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On a side note...We will be staying at the high school and have 2 boys ages 7 and 8.  We would love to meet some other parents and kiddos.  We are driving down from Denver and will be there around 10am on Wednesday:)

Don't worry, your kids will make fast friends with the other kids and you can just follow them to the other parents, who will be your new festi-friends. Happens all the time!  My best advise would be to trade cell numbers the first chance you get!

@ Co-mama, there is not a "quiet" section or party free zone in Town Park. However Warner field is  a great alternative. It is much more family friendly based on your concerns. An option could be to trade your Town Park tix for Warner, you will still have full access to TP, and Warner is right next door, a 2 minute walk to the TP festivities. Hope that helps. See you soon.

I think I was just having a pregnant crazy lady day....I have lots of them right now. It seems like there will be lots of kids at TP so we will just try to set up next to a nice family. Plus there is no way in hell my partner is giving up TP tickets!!!!

Kitty--We are camping at the high school, and have a nearly 7 year old girl, 8 yr. old girl, and 11 yr. old boy.  Maybe we'll run into each other.   

Question about the H.S. camping:  Washing dishes?  Is there water available, or do we need to bring enough water for this? We'll have our drinking water, of course, but we don't want to use it for dishes.  We're probably only going to cook breakfast and eat vendor food for other meals, but we'll still need to wash out breakfast dishes.

tell the kids to bring squirt guns, super soakers and the like. the days are usually hot and there is always a running water gun battle going on! be warned though, the kids that "push it" will die a watery death! this is not our first water fight (can you say upside down soaking wet wedgie?) bubbles are always a winner for the younger ones.

Awesome!  I want to get a good network together with some other parents that we trust so I don't have to be up checking on the kiddos every 2 min.   Plus we could share dish water:))

Also doing the condo route and would like thoughts on the commute to Mountain Village with a crew of 10, 5, and 4?

I'd suggest going for an EZ Up sun shade instead of a Kelty. The Keltys block the view of everyone behind you and are easily captured by high winds.

With regard to the commute from MV with the kiddies... I've been doing it for the past 8 years.  I've got a 4 1/2 year old and a 9 year old.  It's got it's challenges but you can make it work.  Because of the time it takes to get from the fest to MV and back with little ones, we try to make sure we take everything we need into the festival to avoid the back and forth.  (It can EASILY take you 90 minutes to get from fest to MV, do what you need to do, and then back to fest and I hate missing 90 minutes of music!)

Pack your "night time" clothes with you when you go down in the morning.  Bring snacks and drinks (no glass) to save some $$$ but I also try not to get too stingy since part of the experience of TBF should include the greatest corndog in the world, some dumplings/wontons and a killer flank steak! 

Bring stuff for the kids to do because unlike me, they probably have interests beyond tarp line, 14 hours of festival and then Nightgrass.  My 9 year old will probably be making some sweet bead necklaces and bracelets when he's not running around with Rocket Balloons or a squirt gun.  Also remember that the Kids Tent has tons of stuff of the kids to do and you can hear the music from back there.

I think the most important thing to remember, and I still have a hard time with this, is that when you bring the kids, it becomes their festival too.  Be flexible and realize that you might not see every act that you want to see or do everything that you want to do.  Make it fun for the spouse and kids so they all want to come back next year.

This is our first festival of hopefully many. We are camping at Mary E. in a pop up. We can't decide if we should do our first year as a couple and scope it out or if we should just dive in and bring our 6 year old (leaving the 3 year old and 1 year old at home). We don't know what to expect and we need your advice. We are a little concerned that we're going to see everyone and their children and that we'll regret leaving ours at home. Plus, I'm not sure my mother-in-law can handle all 3 kids on her own for five days (I've never done that  !!!)...making us a little anxious.

Any thought oh wise ones  ???
