Hello 2009 Family Festivarians!

We are finally making the journey out in June, after two years of living in CO, it's about time!  I will be traveling alone with my 7 and 4 year old daughters.  We're staying at the high school and would love to swap other families in childcare if anyone's interested!

Let's hope the next few months go quick...we can't wait!

Hello

I'm a newbie as well and am coming out this year with a friend of mine and our two year olds.  I noticed that Town Park and Waren campgrounds are sold out and those seem to be the most popular.

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what the next best place would be to camp with little kids.

I'm SO excited and I can't wait but am a little nervous as this is the first time camping or anything like this with my baby.

Thanks for your help!

The High School might be perfect. Click on the Planet Bluegrass link on the top right of the page, than click on Telluride Blue grass fest. on the left, than accomodations.  Flower

agreed, while there isn't a camp site that's horrible for the chillens, i'd say the school is the best one for them

Thanks for the suggestions.  After contemplating we have decided to go with Mary E Ilium so we can have a fire and have our car with us.  I hope we made a good choice.  It seems from everything I have read that you can't really make a bad one.

Thanks again!

you'll be happy there.  we were festivirgins last year and stayed at Ilium.  it's worth it for the fire. the only drawback is a bit of a wait for the shuttle, but you meet some great folks that way.

Hey DB, Welcome to the TBF Forum! Tell me, how old is Lotus? There are some pretty cool kids that truly have been every year of they're lives and were my tour guides that first year. The twins & Ally pretty much rule the roost for fun and know the ropes and shortcuts from A to Z. And of course, there is Sam, the wise and all knowing Sam the Man.  Thumbs Up

There's also some pretty cool 20 somethings that we wouldn't trade for the world!

Thank you very much for the welcome  Thumbs Up!  Lotus is a very active four years old, turning five in Sept.  She is going to be a blast out in Telluride and is already very amped about coming out.  All she talks about right now is great big mountains.  We're really looking forward to meeting and establishing some life long friends out there this year and appreciate any helpful hints as and TBF virgins would  :)!

Hey all!!  It's getting close!!!  Thumbs Up

I have a question for you guys about Nightgrass and the kids!  Have you ever brought your kids to a Nightgrass show at the Sheridan Opera House?  My husband and I are thinking about bringing them to see the Punch Bros, but I wanted to get some other opinions first.  Would the environment be too adult?  huh  Our kids are 5 and will be 18 months old.  Any thoughts?

That depends Laura, if you get a seat and the kids are up late night anyway, than it's doable... however I have picked up a few folks from the floor (drunk and pass out standing up)at nightgrass and the standing room only(where the kids are likely to be trampled to death by drunks)I feel would be way off the charts uncool.. but that's just me maybe...
