Long Johns !
Socks
Good Boots
Sleep Nude ..with some one is better
SUR! (BAM! She get's him again!) Pack clothing first.. Layers, like everyone has mentioned.
Pack camp gear second. Tent, TARPS!, tools, tarps sleeping bags, tarps extra blankets (
got down?
BRING IT!) tarps, sleeping pad of choice, and tarps.
Bedding should also be in layers and you should have as many layers UNDER you as OVER you!
(On this note... If you don't have an extra sleeping layer, DO NOT SUFFER IN THE COLD. Grab one of your tarps, wrap your sleeping gear and then climb inside. It will make a world of difference in the warmth level.)Pack kitchen gear third... bring the basics and if you forget something, chances are that someone that lives closer will have it and let you borrow it. You DO NEED that Nalgene/water bottle(s). You DO NEED
re-usable plates, cups and silverware.
And Forth.. UNPACK any food and snacks and place them in re-useable containers for the trip. Don't bring the garbage with you.
Major groceries are available in Montrose, Colorado, at
King Soopers City Market or in Telluride proper.
Again, clothing, sleeping.. cooking... the basics. Oh, and two hats, shade and cold. Yup! Two hats!
Have a staging area for everything, weed out what you obviously don't need, stage it again, check the several lists on this forum and use them, they are from seasoned Telluride Vets, pack the vehicle.
Now... have you packed the road trip music???
Safe Travels!
