1. I have bought RGA tix and I haven't gotten anything in the mail... Will I? Will I be getting a packet of what to expect, or do I need to figure that out here on the boards?

2. I have an onsite camping pass as well for RG, does that imply that the camping site that I land for RGA is the same site i'll get for RG? In other words, will I have to get out and move my stuff? I'm guessing no, just trying to get as much info as I can.

3. When I arrive For RGA, do I line up with the RG folks for camping, or do they swoop me in? What time will I need to arrive... or what time do you folks suggest that I arrive? Will there be ample good spots for those in RGA? Will there continue to be ample good spots for those on site campers for RG as well?

4. Generally, what do people do about their instruments security? Carry them everywhere?

5. Is there elctric anywhere or should I just assume that my three hour cell phone battery will last for it's usual 1.5 hours?

I am sure that I have a zillion other questions... but these are all I can think of for now. I just don't want to come unprepared.

I can help with some of these.  As long as you have on-site camping for RG, you can stay where you are from RGA.  There are some outlets to charge your phone.  You can leave your instrument in your tent.  You must have requested will call for your tickets or you would already have them.  They are sent via e-mail only for RG...or, will call.

Scody,

Mark answered your other questions so I will do these.

2. I have an onsite camping pass as well for RG, does that imply that the camping site that I land for RGA is the same site i'll get for RG? In other words, will I have to get out and move my stuff? I'm guessing no, just trying to get as much info as I can.

You will get to keep your same campsite.

3. When I arrive For RGA, do I line up with the RG folks for camping, or do they swoop me in? What time will I need to arrive... or what time do you folks suggest that I arrive? Will there be ample good spots for those in RGA? Will there continue to be ample good spots for those on site campers for RG as well?

Lineup will start the Thursday before at 9 am at Meadow Park, not with regular lineup.  Most people arrive Friday afternoon to Saturday night.

4. Generally, what do people do about their instruments security? Carry them everywhere?

Typically your instrument should be safe anywhere onsite, but because of the sun and heat you may not want to leave it too long anywhere or it may end up in the sun or an afternoon shower.  We keep our instruments at camp most times when not using them,  except for my wife's bass that stays onsite for the whole day (I can only carry it so many times).

You are going to love the academy,

Pat

Since we're on questions, I have some too (first-timer at RGA/RG as well):

1. I can't line up before getting into the grounds on Sunday for RGA. Does this just mean my son and I will have a bad spot? It's not like there could be a lack of spots, right? Since everyone will be joining after for RG at the end of the week ...

I mean, are there really any bad spots where RGA folks will be camping? My son and I will be on site for a week, and that's a loooong enough time already in my book. So I just don't see us lining up beforehand as well.

2. We don't have an on-site vehicle pass. Theoretically, does this mean we could camp with our vehicle during RGA then move it out and park it during the transition? Is this at all feasible/doable/advisable?

Thanks for advice!
