New promotional video out by Nonesuch for the new Thile/Daves album. Just got it in the mail from the pre-order ... ridiculous. I first saw Daves in 2006 at the Merlefest Midnight Jam hosted by Nickel Creek - he sang Blue Night and literally brought the house down. All anyone could talk about afterwards was that song and who that new kid singing it was. Their show should be worth the price of admission alone...which I'm still looking to pay for anyone who comes by an extra 4 day (shameless plug, I know) ... but definitely still stoked to see Thile (and hopefully Daves) at Nightgrass, even if I don't get in to see them from the tarps.

My wife and I saw these two play last night at Smith's Olde Bar in Atlanta. What a sweet pre-Telluride warmup for us! They encored with Blue Night.  Thumbs Up

I'm with you...where has he been? I learned long ago though that there is no way I can know who all of these artist are. Makes it fun to discover new music!

Let us learn to appreciate there will be times when the trees will be bare, and look forward to the time when we may pick the fruit.

This album has pretty much been on constant repeat since I picked it up.  Real raw gritty recording, which makes sense seeing that Jack White had his hands on it.  I think their set on Main Stage is going to be a great way to get warmed up late on a Friday morning!
