as a newcomer, what is the traffic situation like getting into town on Wednesday night?  seem,s like only one road in/out.
When is the usual rush?

Yes, only 1 road.  If you have a town parking pass then the barricade will let you through.  If you don't have a parking pass then you will need to park in Mountain Village and ride the free gondola into town.  The rush wasn't too bad back in the years when I arrived on Wednesdays (instead of the Friday before-hand like I do now  :) ).  It all depends on how many newbies are screwing up the system by not knowing where they need to go.  Are you camping or condo?
