I'm helping a friend look for a 4 day pass, and wow, I had no idea the level of scalping/douchbagery happening on Craigslist!

I'd like to propose that as many of us as possible take a few minutes out of our days EVERYDAY until fest to monitor Craigslist for both scalpers offering tickets for greater then face value, and concert-goers (I hesitate to call them festivarians) willing to pay greater then face.

I posted an ad today, reminding folks not to pay more then face value for festy passes and camping, and i've also been replying to "wanted" ads that offer more then face value with this message:

"Please do not pay more then face value ($185) for tickets to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. This only encourages scalpers to buy the tickets, which is probably why you weren't able to get a ticket in the first place. There is a very large group of Festivarians that will continue to monitor Craigslist and flag any post that offers or requests tickets for more then face value.

Thanks, and good luck!"

All we need to do as a group is flag every post we see that either asks or offers more then face for a ticket. Craigslist flagging works on volume. If a certain number of people flag an ad it gets taken down. The other thing we need to look out for is the posts that are offering 2 4 day passes and 2 camping passes for $500. These posts (about 10 per day) have already been reported here as a phishing scam. Once you've read a few you'll start to recognize them. They're all worded the same. I've been flagging them all day and most of them are gone.

If we all stick together and work together we'll leave the scalpers holding a lot of tickets and they'll lose a lot of money. Unfortunately there will be some who don't get tickets this year, but if we truly stick together then the scalpers will make a business decision next year to not even bother with TBF, and we'll all win!
