I heard that back in our Town Park camp.  Was it a band or on the loud speakers?  If it was a band, does anybody know who it was?  We were dancing around N'awlins-style to it.  Too fun!

The whole weekend I was thinking it would be super cool to have a brass band march second line style thru the crowd.  It would be a nice break in the string music.  Maybe a early afternoon Dirty Dozen Brass Band tweener set!

I only said tweener set to "start small" as they say....the wide aisles at TBF are perfect for a Second Line!  It would get everyone grooving.

That was Kermit Ruffins if my ears hold true. It was being played through the loud speakers during the Kids' Parade as they did a little bit of a second line through the festival grounds. Happens every years at about the same time. One of the entertainers in the kids' tent is from NOLa. 

A few years ago the New Orleans Social Club performed at the fest I think it would be perfectly in form to have Ruffins, Rebirth, or The New Orleans Jazz Vipers. On the same week bring in Lucia Micarelli, a wonderfully talented jazz and classical violinist to complete the circle.

I agree with the comments about something other than more acoustic string music, especially for the tweeners.  A couple years ago, I had prepared a tweener set of latin and salsa music from all around the Caribbean, and I sent the cd and discography to Brian.  I didn't get any response.  The thought was to play it after Jerry's set on Saturday afternoon, just when everyone is starting to ramp up for Yonder.  The working title was "Telluride Goes South of the Border" or "Telluride Goes to the Beach".  You know - sun baking down, everyone's hot and sweaty, reaching for another beer.  I listened intently to what was playing in that tweener slot this year, and it was basically very quiet, background music, string stuff.  I think we could do better with the tweener music, and switching up the style would be a good way to go.
