Hi everyone,

Time to start a thread about bike touring to the festival.

In 2008 some friends and I (Matt, Roy, Elliot) Were so psyched for the festival that we devoted a month or two for touring around Colorado on our bicycles with Telluride in the middle.  It was quite fantastic on many levals.  With the help of this board we found out that many other folks were doing the same and have been since, a lot of great connections have been made.

The following year I toured in alone and last year our group drove in, but we are back with plans to tour in for 2011!

Matt and I have plans to bicycle in from Crested Butte, making it in time for ABGAT.
This could take us a week or so of riding since we are planning on including the Million Dollar highway from Ouray through Sliverton towards Durango and Rico before making it over Lizard Head Pass to Telluride.

Who wants to join us!  Who has their own bike touring plans!  Questions?  Comments?  Put em' here...

Yes indeed!  Thumbs Up I'm really psyched to bike into festival again this year after taking a few years off.

Plannin on riding this route...

If anyone is interested in doing this ride, shoot Elliot or myself a message. Bike touring is a ton of fun...add to it that you are riding into Telluride for Festival, well then that's almost too good to be true! and of course, you feel better when you ride.

Are we going to be passing through anyone's home town? maybe we can meet up for a little joyride, or perhaps even a little music. I'm planning on strapping a guitar onto my bike trailer...why not right??

:hop It's the new year and the days are getting longer... Woo hoo

 Cheers

You could always hit Durango for Memorial Day and ride the Iron Horse race to Silverton.
