3 chord's and a story that's me

I have a vision....

It's on Saturday morning... when we're all still lively enough to pull off something outstanding.  Its something simple...  'Angeline the Baker' --everyone who reads this has all winter to learn & polish their very best Angeline/a.  It will begin with a strategically placed, brave fiddler or two,  progressively add guitar, mado, voice =everything= What'cha got?  ** hundreds of bluegrass fans, spontaniously erupting into song.**  We might even woo Sammy  out to play our tune! EEK!

Anyone been in a flash mob?  Organized one?
Does anyone want to have fun with this vision with me?!?  Input encouraged!
 Cheers

I do and I'm thinking about asking Sammy to help us kick it off. How bout the key of D? This is your vision, I am willing to help get it goin. Sounds like an epic moment for sure.Lets talk soon. Thumbs Up

A tweener, tweener LOL Cheers LOL

Crooked still version for lyrics? Key of D?  Just before the second tweener on Saturday? Feedback??

Thank you, Landshark et al., for keeping the momentum going while I neglected my proposal here.  This is f-in' exciting!

WE ARE GOING TO DO THIS, PEOPLE!!! We are SO going to do this!!!

Key of 'D'  (G may be the happy key, but we're going for more than happy on this, we're going EPIC.  Key of D)
I like going with the Crooked Still version - lyrics to a traditional tune like this are all over the place, so this is a great way to keep things uniform.

Before the 2nd tweener on Saturday.  I love it.  Sammy kicking it off...?  Really?  .. that takes my breath away, quite frankly.

So, logistics.....  How many full rounds (2xA part,+2xBpart) will allow for a progressive build-up + full jam?
 A cohesive end is important.
How many people & what instruments are IN so far?
1 fiddle (ME!!)
1 guitar (my hubby)

Let's blow some minds.
Peace!
Erin

E I have givin this some serious thought and study and I think it would be difficult to pull off, here is why.

In a crowd of 10,000 like TBF with no Mics the music would be lost and muddy with sooo many folks.

I think a Warner Jam like this would be off the charts  Medal, are you in Warner? but in a crowd of 10,000 with no mics not so good.

Now maybe we could have Ferg play it on the speakers and we could all do some snappy dance moves all together to Angeline , but not quite the same vision for ya LOL
Maybe a Warner Flash Mob would be better. Saturday ? Folks that don't sing or play can work on dance. Still would be lots of fun Flower

Feedback?

You make a good point, LS, even though it's hard for me to shift gears on my dream

We'd probably need about 500 people who know the song down pat to pull it off in the festival.  Maybe that can happen on the 5th annual or something.

How about the same thing in the volleyball court area where the Warner/TP line forms?  Sat., an hour before the tarp run.  If we can get 30 people to agree to show up & play AT the vb courts, plus spread the word to everyone within earshot to join in once we get rolling, I think we could successfully create a spectacle.

Camp is really where we're gonna have the high concentration of instuments anyway.  Plus, we eliminate the question of hauling our precious strings into & out of the fest grounds 'inconspicuously'

I wanna shoot for a solid group of 20 on the forum, then talk it up like crazy at camp leading up to Sat.

Are you still in?  Who's still with me?   Thumbs Up

An hour before the tarp run on Saturday?  That's when I'm going to bed.   LOL LOL LOL
And keep in mind, people who aren't in the campgrounds of TP or WF won't be able to participate as they can't come in there.

OK so I just asked Sammy if he would kick it off with the fiddle if the time does not conflict with his plans.

Next location.
Hippie Jerry had a great idea.
Elks Park might be a great idea. Lots of places for folks to enter from all sides, a mian stage to kick it off at first and open to the public for full participation.

This could be a treat for the townies!!

Now lets get a sign up sheet to see who is willing to join in to make E's vision come true.

Only a fraction of folks read this forum , so suprize will be easy, even with open forum discussion.

It's now up to who will join in.

I can carry a solid vocal tune to kick it off Cheers Lets see where this will go,,,,,,very interesting folks.

Somethin to put some starch in yer shorts Medal

I'm 100% in for vocals/dancing!!

Also, what about a well-coordinated freeze?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwMj3PJDxuo

THis is an awesome freeze in Grand Central Station.  It would require much less planning than a full on flash mob with choreography, etc- we would just need everyone to meet someone beforehand to synchronize their watches!

Word of mouth and this forum only!!  Cheers
