Mary E Parking

Sorry if this is an obvious question, but I'm not finding clear enough info on the website. Question is....Can I park my car at my Mary E campsite? It says you can have a vehicle but then it looks like you have to buy a vehicle pass, and these are sold out. So what's the scoop? Where do you park if camping there, it doesn't make sense?

If you don't have a vehicle pass, than you par along the Mary E. road; some of the volunteers will be helping out with that. If you desire a vehicle pass, at this point all you can do is throw your plea out on the Telluride ticket swap page of this forum and something might come along. Also, every Tuesday at noon the planet will put the tickets that have been returned to them for sale again, so keep your eye on that as well. best of luck to you

We parked on the road last year for the first time.  It wasn't as bad as I thought, and if I ever camp down in Mary E again, I don't think I'll be so worried about getting my car in.

Another good tip is to ask around when you get to camp for a Parking Pass.  There are usually at least a few people selling parking passes in the days leading up to the festival.

I was able to get a Mary E vehicle pass last week on the returns website, each Tuesday at noon.... Good luck... I logged in at exactly noon..... maybe you'll get lucky.

Telluride newbie here. How far away is the parking on the road? I'm bringing a few instruments that I expect will need to be kept in the car when I'm not in camp.

It depends on how early you get there. If you're early enough, you could get a spot that you could travel to, but if you plan on keeping things in your car you'll want a vehicle pass. We had a couple of guitars with us last year and we just kept them in the tent and they were fine.

You'll have enough room to bring either a second tent, or a larger one, to store the guitars.  I've never had a problem with theft down there, as long as the guitars are in the tent, they'll be safe .
