Hello Festies!

So, I’m new to TBF this year and I have a question or 2! I’ve done my fair share of festivals and have a pretty good idea of expectations regarding camping, weather, neighbors and all the “riff raff” fun that comes your way at a festival.

I’m trying to decide on camping. Obviously, I’d love to get my hands on 2 Warner field tickets but also realize that may not happen.
I’ve read that many of you arrive as early as the week prior. (I feel a flush of green coming over me) We probably won’t be able to arrive until Tues evening/ Wed morning and since I’m not familiar with how quickly the campsites fill up I was hoping someone could give me an idea which
might be the better bet in terms of my eta.

Taking into my consideration my arrival time, should the 2 of us “childlike” adults forego the alcoholic beverages while camping to stay in the family camp to be closer to the festival or should we opt for E. Ilium and shuttle it to the festival? Will we have major issues finding a site by arriving on Wed morning?

So excited Flower!

As far as Illium goes, the majority of the people don't show up until Wednesday afternoon/evening.  The campground is typically less than half full on Wednesday morning.  Unless you are pulling in at 10 PM on Wednesday you should be fine finding a spot down there to set up camp.  Unless you have a HUGE set up, then it might be more difficult.

As far as shuttle riding goes, if you go that route, just make sure to plan VERY far ahead as the line can be an hour or more long in the afternoon.

Awesome, thanks so much for the info and advice! I think we will get there early morning Wed so it sounds like we should be good.

Based on my research (TBGF rookie as well), Illum camp is the best availible option for childless adult children.

Campfires, pickin around said campfires, with the major pain of actually getting to the fest.  But from what I have read it is worth it.
