Does that "sold out" include the Lawson RV passes, available only by phone- and only with a 4-day festival passes?
As in, "Geez, honey, if we gotta have the 4-day passes, it would be a shame if we didn't use all the days..."
TBF ticket pageThe 4 days of the festival go by so damn quick that most begin suffering withdrawls sometime Sunday, if not late Saturday. Telluride is gorgeous and there's plenty to do even if you duck out of the festival grounds here and there.
To answer your question, it's possible, but not advisable.
The Planet Bluegrass folks can probably tell you if pulling out early or arriving late is an option- that's if any Lawson RVs are still available. The advantage of Lawson (as opposed to Non-PB campgrounds) is you can shuttle back and forth. Matterhorn (a non-PB) is set up nicely for RVs.
The odds of scoring a Town Park RV are slim to none at this point- actually, make that none.
A couple of quick points...
1. you must have a 4-day pass to use an Lawson Hill RV pass. So, if you opt to purchase an RV pass you have to have a 4-day pass to go along with it. If you opt to only attend the festival for a couple of days, you end up paying approx. 3x-4x what it would cost you to drive in for the day.
2. There is no such thing as a Town Park RV pass. Vehicles are limited to 24' in Town Park, and there just isn't room for any bigger vehicles.
3. while I'm on the subject, if you have a Town Park vehicle pass and don't plan on camping in your car, send it back to me here at the planet for a full refund so it can go to someone who needs the pass for disability reasons, or maybe has a little one who needs the shelter from the cold weather in a camper.
