I was actually told by a PB staff member (actually, there's is a post on the forums: http://www.festivarian.com/index.php/topic,4708.msg32677.html#msg32677 ) that you can only camp in the front area and not in the behind the stage area for the Academy.....so it's still a mystery to me.

Say, if your going to the academy you will need to camp in the academy part of the campground. Classes are held backstage during the academy. If you want to relocate your camp backstage for the fest, you can do so at 6:00pm on thursday after the acadamy is over.

It's true.

However, those that wish to move do line up in the back in order to make a "rush" on those spots as well.

We do make them wait till the first couple of waves of car line folks have gotten in, though.

they do not get preferred treatment...or they at least get less than the RGA folks who get to stay where they are.

I'm not trying to solve the mystery, just letting you know how it works. Flower

isn't Bohn Park a campground?  No tent next to the car?  Is this part of the lease with Lyons?  We'll all be too stiff to boogie when Friday rolls around.  Maybe I can sleep on my hood with a "do not disturb" sign on my big toe.   Also, we can camp behind the stage?  I just always thought that was a friends/family of bands and PB area.  Might have to check that out.

Can anyone from PB answer my original questions:

1.  What are the final thoughts on having a tent by the car for those of us without RVs or vans?

2.  Do folks need to stay with their vehicle throughout the early drop off time?  ( I mean not just drop off a car over the weekend)

Thanks...

yeah, if we have to stay with our cars the WHOLE time, does that mean no oskar blues or local stores etc.  i'm spending my 30th by myself in line and was hoping have a few at oskar's.

I have intentionally avoided answering this question in hopes that Laura would jump in. Not that I'm trying to avoid the question, but she is a bit more in the know on how all of this has played out.

here is my answer...however, anything Laura says after me will supercede my answers below.

1. You may provide yourself with shelter at night next to your car. however, this is not a campground. It's the city of Lyons park. Please be respectful of the neighborhood next to the line and keep the noise to a minimum. The potential for complaints from the houses next to the line are the number one threat to the town not allowing us to have this line at all in the future.

2. No, you do not have to stay with your car the entire time. As long as they pay the $$ and pick up a number they can leave and return on Thursday. anyone not with their car when the line is moved will not be allowed to "catch up" to the line and will have to go to the end.

Cheers

D.
