Heya - "the teachers" here (Matt and Karen) -

I know a lot of us are crafty craftsmen (and women), and I thought it would be fun to do a sort of "farmer's market" on one of the ABGAT days.  Could barter/buy, and just show off our stuff  Flower

I plan to bring jams and jellies this year - not enough time to make soap...  I know there are some tie-dyers, jewelry-makers, beer brewers, etc. etc. out there.... WHO'S IN???

And what day/time would work best?

I like the idea but am not too artistic so maybe will just have to trade shots of Crunchy Frog or something.  If anyone wants to knit me a coozy for my hooch flask I'd appreciate it!

...sorry I didn't post this idea MONTHS ago...  one of those that just percolated for a while, then I thought YIKES!  TBF is almost here, and I never mentioned it...  !!!

Let me know if you want/can do it this year, and we'll try to find a good time/day.  If not, DEFINITELY for next year!

Hooch - BRILLIANT idea!!!  Like I said, crafty craftsmen out there ;p

Karen and Matt, bring a bunch of leftover construction paper, scissors, and glue from your classrooms this past year and we'll just see what we can make.  And make sure the glue is that mint-flavored paste stuff.  Or if anyone has lick-and-stick tattoos out of CrackerJack boxes that would be fun too.

You could set up your Craft Market next door to the home brew tasting.  Brewers will be showing off their "craft" anyway so the coupling could make sense.

If i remember correctly it isn't legal to be selling without the proper permit and
I seem to remember the nice security guard woman telling someone that last year. i think i can pre-pay for a piece of handmade jewelry though.

i will have the usual freebies at Smugglers and probabky some at the beer tasting as well...

free is good... and making things is fun!

 Cheers

However, cash is hard to trace.

The A-man has inherited some beaded necklaces that were made by his other Grandma that passed away and he was going to try to raise money for when he has to start paying for a ticket in a few years.

If it wasn't for the illegal part, I was going to suggest that a craft fair would be a nice accompaniment to a homebrew tasting.  That would make it into a Homebrew Festival!!  Maybe we could get some music, too!!
