Scattered sunlight and possible clouds during the day, fading to colorful skies at dusk around 8:30, continuing to much colder temps and dark skies with copious amounts of visible stars and a few planets, gradually lightening up around 6 - 6:30a.m., but still cold. Warming up as the sun  finally rises high enough to shine on us below, then getting really hot and you want to jump in the river or stick your head under the waterfall, then you start to cool off. Or you might get cold cuz your hair is wet.    Unless it rains, then it would be grey skies, or black skies, or blue skies over there but raining over here, or hail falling on one side of the canyon and sun shining on the other, or it could not rain at all and everyone will be fried, inside and out.

I can tell you it will be colder at night, no matter what the day has in store. I can tell you that one day may not be the same as the one before, or that one day may not be the same from hour to hour. It can be windy, it can be calm and still. It can be hot, it can be cold, it can be wet, it can be dry.  It is Colorado, and it is the mountains.

And Tom, you have  lived in CO long enough to know that you can't predict the weather, at least not THIS early.   Wink Wink Wink Just bring those heaters to warm up the valley. LOL
Check back in about a month.   Cheers

I think that should read Mostly light followed by mostly dark with a possibility of scattered sunshine, showers, snow, grapple, and full moon rising.

Here are some Durango recommendations from a friend of mine (from summer 2006 so keep that in mind):

There is a FANTASTIC BBQ joint on the Animas River at the south end of town.  I can’t remember the name, but it’s the only BBQ joint there.  Also our favorite bar is the El Rancho…it’s on Main St. more toward the north end.…there are a few others but they mostly cater to the college crowd.  Also Old Tymer’s Bar Restaurant, not bad either……

Great mtn. biking in Durango on trails to Perrin’s Peak…very popular.  Purgatory ski area also has an alpine slide in the summer time which is a blast…And there’s this great hot spring a few miles north out of town called Trimble Hot Springs. Also River Rafting on the Animas…

Unfortunately they can't run very fast due to the higher gravity of our planet.
