As far as a smaller band that should be included in the TBG lineup. I recommend Mayhem String Band from Oxford, MS. They usually make their way through Colorado twice a year. These boys can pick, and have a blast doing it.

Hahaha Ozomatli on Saturday night would be crazy and sooo out of place but so much fun.
Another nonbluegrasser who would be perfect is Mason Jennings. He's incredible and would be so perfect at Telluride.
sooooo
1. Mason Jennings!!!
2. Swell Season if they'd come back
3. CROOKED STILL!! i wish I'd been there two years ago.  and they're still wonderful even without Rushad.
4. The Duhks
5. David Grisman
then of course:
Sam, Bela, Peter Rowan, Yonder, Chris Thile, Leftover Salmon, and other favorites

not Paolo Nutini.

Okay ... well ... here goes ...

1. Zappa Plays Zappa ... yeah, I know other bands like Project Object may be a bit tighter, but Dweezil rips it up.
2. David Crosby in some form or another ... perhaps CPR ... I'd give ANYTHING to hear him sing with Emmy Lou
3. Wake the Dead ... I'm with the Hippie on this one, for sure
4. New Riders of the Purple Sage would be pretty sweet
5. Govt Mule ... and infinite guest appearances by Warren Haynes for 4 days and nights
6. Blue Highway - smooth as silk ...
