You guys probably are well aware of this band, but you HAVE to get BIG SMITH to play in Telluride. They are the stars of the recent documentary Homemade Hillbilly Jam. I have had many friends with discriminating taste give them rave reviews, including Scott Knauer (he is the artist of last years and this years poster for the BlueGrass Festival). They hail from Missouri and are wildly popular throughout the midwest, and now because of the documentary are getting the publicity they deserve!

Honkytonk Homeslice
Hot Buttered Rum
Bonnie Raitt
Yonder....of course..
Taj Majal
Del
Eddie Vedder (solo, acoustic)

Actually I would really like to just get some sort of lineup announcement at this point. So I am starting to think that PB must have some major, major acts to announce.  Something that is darn near earth shattering!! They could of told us weeks ago that the usual suspects will be there, and they kinda did.  I just think some bigger than normal acts are going to be at T-Ride or maybe I am just too impatient. Peace and Happy New Year. Big Al

It would be great to see these bands:

KieranKane, Kevin Welch,& Fats Kaplin - these guys just get better &better and play other folk festivals, why not Telluride.

The Waybacks would be another great new addition.

I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to see Neil Young in Telluride.  Given his performance history with Emmy Lou, I'm really surprised that he hasn't ever made the lineup (as far as I know).

I have to vote for Railroad Earth again. I just saw them in Dallas again last month and they were even better than ever. And how about Son Volt? And Natalie McMaster would be great to see again. What evergy she has!Paul Simon would be a wonderful performer, as usual. How about Bob Dylan? Crosby, Stills, Nash, and/or Young? Joni Mitchell? John Hiatt? Lyle Lovett?South Austin Jug Band? And of course, the T-Ride house band: Bela Fleck, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, and Edgar Meyer. And Tim O'Brien, for sure! And Chris Thile! Geez! Everyone I've ever seen at T-Ride over the past 11 years is fabulous! Too many to list!

See ya'll in June!

I'm a gigantic fan of Dave Alvin, who has a broad and eclectic American music sensibility that I think would be fantastic at T-ride.  He played the "Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival" earlier this year, and is just a fantastic performer and interpreter.  Worth checking out...

I also vote for the Boom Chicks!!!  It's been too long since we've had the honor!

Along with the Boom Chicks, I'd love to see Mary Chapin Carpenter again, and Jake Shimabukuro too!
