I haven't heard a peep about this set. I missed it during the fest, but i have a chance to see her in a few weeks.  Any good?

I missed it too,  but I had just heard her at Merlefest a couple of months before . I told a friend of mine to catch that set., and after her show he gave me a big thumbs up and said it took him a long time to decide which two CDs to buy. All I can tell you is that she is very versatile. She goes from acoustic to electric to Piano and from hard and to soft and from mellow singer songwriter stuff to rocking out.. and when I saw her, she was doing it all in one set.  She has a good following in NC, that's for sure.

Maybe someone else here can be more descriptive than that.

I think LuAnna nailed it pretty well.  I've been a fan of hers from the start (she's been an alt.country up and comer all along) and I'd sure check her out if she came close to my home.

I thought her set was one of the hightlights of the festival.

GoodleDays, good to see that you're listening to Fleet Foxes.   Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Their debut full-length is one of the best recordings I've heard this year.  Like a folksier My Morning Jacket.  Or Brian Wilson's Smile re-envisioned somewhere in a northwest forest.  Great great stuff.

And I did get to hear a good bit of Tift's set.  It was outstanding.  She has a great live energy and her band is tasteful and focused.  I love watching her drummer - every note he plays is perfectly (and very deliberately) placed.  Tift's workshop at Elks with Darrell Scott was great as well. I was primed with inspiration after that one...

 Thumbs Up

I LOVE Tift!  The first time I saw her was at TBGF last year at the little park (can't remember the name!) and also her set at the festival.  I also saw her last year in Boulder for the taping of Estreet.  I have bought all 3 of her cd's and love each one!  She is a breath of fresh air!  I too am hoping she comes back in 09!

I was lucky enough to get Town Park tickets this year, can hardly wait!

Cheers,
Amy
