I wish the map that Courtney did in 2007 was still on here. It was the really cool one that had all the camps flying in on the computer screen and landing in their location within Town Park. I've looked for it but I don't think it is still here. Oh Courtney, Goddess of Hot Muffins and Tasty Treats and awesome maps, could we  persuade you to re-post please?

We won the lottery (!) and camping for the first time at Town Park. Plan to get there on the Saturday. Question is: where is the best place to camp if you like white noise (river, waterfalls) and don't want to be in the very middle of all the activity? I know, it's all activity at Town Park, but is there a mellower corner or something?

You'll find room for a tent..no worries.  If nothing else, just approach a group that is already set up & ask to join them.  That is how you'll meet tons of new friends!

In fact, I wouldn't make that a last resort, but a first one.  Approach a group of folks and say you're new to Town Park, just wandered in, and you need a spot for your home.  Most folks are going to be happy help you squeeze in somewhere, and you'll meet your neighbors at the same time.   It's always weird when someone comes in and starts pitching a tent in my front yard and doesn't even say "Hi" or introduce themselves. 

I mean, if they introduced themselves, I wouldn't let them camp where the little boys have been peeing for the last 4 nights in the middle of the night
