The night before lining up is mostly for tarp running (this is where people lay down tarps for the day for seating). You shouldn't have a problem coming in with the general population during regular festival hours. Telluride Bluegrass is the BEST for sharing spaces if they aren't being used - it will all be outlined beautifully in the schedules and festivarian info when you arrive. Happy Bluegrass!

Trixiestix is saying is true. We never have a problem getting a nice spot to enjoy the day when we walk in at hates opening. There are always open tarps and chairs to occupy until the owners get there and even then you would usually be invited to stay if there is room.  Cheers

Do people only sit during the festival? Just wondering if tarp running is really necessary if we are only interested in the last few acts of the day? And it’s just 2 of us going.
