From a different thread:
So lots of water this summer? It was so dry last year....

Definitely re: rivers & reservoirs, but it's anyone's guess re: rain.  Then again, there has been a noticeable shift re: moisture and colder temps, so maybe macro trend continues into the summer.  Bluegrass is kinda "due" for a deluge.

Be sure to bring your rain gear this year.

It may be warm, but I think we're going to get a few downpours and thunderstorms, so be careful.

Temps will likely be in the 70's and 80's during the day with mid 40's at night.
Humidity will be high throughout the festival and it can get pretty windy when those storms roll in.
Batten down the hatches.

Remember: This is a prediction, not a forecast, so don't hold me to it if I'm wrong.  Flower

I have to carry those gum boots from Australia again? The brand new, still never worn gum boots? Crikey.

Ready for the cold and rain as usual. Last year I left my some rain gear at home and almost regretted it, not this year. Thanks for the weather report Tom.

I agree with Tom's prediction about rain and will even take it a step further and suggest the possibility of colder weather ... perhaps even "cold rain and snow"!

One can be blind to how the weather models work, yet still know when the sun is shining (or not).   There's clearly been a major macro pattern shift since at least November.   Winter has held on tightly for nearing a half year; and it still doesn't want to release its grip.  l don't believe we've had more than three days in a row of "spring like" weather (40+ and sunny) ... and said windows of nice weather have been few and far between.   Likewise, I can count on one hand how many 50+ degree days we've had & don't believe we've had any days that have broken 60.  This is not typical.

If macro pattern changes, we could luck out ... or we can get lucky if one of these "windows" happens to sync up with festival.

Take a little time for sunshine...

What he said.

I hadn't thought about it as a macro shift but this has definitely been a different year than the last 3. Windows of moderately warm weather but 50s not 60s and it's mid-April. I've had 4 festivals in a row of literally not a cloud in the sky for all 4 days of TBF (2015-2018) so I'm due for some cold/wet weather. (Although most of those years there has been significant rain and cold before the festival when I was camped in TP).

We had two sunny days in the 50's recently, but back to cold rain and snow.   While the Ridgway reservoir still looked extremely bony last week when I passed by, "weather people" are saying we're in a good spot in terms of drought and replenishment.  Likewise, are forecasting:

"Additionally, there is an 80 percent chance that current El Niño conditions will persist through the spring and a 60 percent chance of continued precipitation in the summer."

Music & travel & beer... not always in that order.

Dear Weather Gods,

Can I place a formal request to avoid any snow falling? I am from Phoenix and get very confused when that happens (and a bit grumpy). I promise to prepare as well as I can in hopes that it prevents me from needing any of the extra gear I may bring (for if I leave it at home, surely the snow will fall like it did the year I left my shoes on the counter at home).

Thank you.

That was in 2011. Remember the rain/snow stopping as soon as Robert Plant took the stage? It’s as if he summoned the forces of nature to take a respite while he entertained and delighted his minions.

No snow please. We folks down under do not understand what this is and we get very confused. We like it hot and dry with a lovely river, green grass,  plenty of water fights and snow capped mountains.  I cannot wait to be home .
