Good morning, hope the polar vortex is passing, hello from the land of sunshine, beaches and sand between your toes.

See lots of calls for Billy Strings again this but I can’t work out how logistically he can get to Telluride given his touring schedule but fingers crossed. He is fabulous.

Thinking about how  Billy could get there made me wonder about when we might expect the next announcement.

Who else is coming and when might we hear? I need a bit of notice as I have to get my “ preparing for festival” playlist prepared and played twenty or thirty times before I fly out. I like to get a good idea of what the bands will sound like given I’ve rarely heard of most of them before Telluride! It’s a great process of discovery. Sometimes those bands become staples. ( eg last night I listened to Dispatch, a band I had never heard of before TBGF. I have had them on regular rotation ever since. Of course Greensky is my number 1  favourite band but I also have a very soft spot for the Oh Hellos and Hot Rize  - all courtesy of our festival. )

Like the line up so far but I’m still looking around......Who else are we going to see this year in our beloved canyon? Time for door number two soon?

Thanks

Survived the polar vortex now we are getting snow, a week ago it was -34 with a high temperature of -18, it makes those cold Telluride nights seem like a heat wave  :dog. Now two of my dogs decided that they would have to go explore the frozen swamp below my woods during the cold weather, how they survived is the story that I'm waiting for them to tell me, probably could sell it to Disney. Must have something to do with the breed American Eskimo. I almost froze trying to find them only to have them come back on their own...
I would think it will be soon based on the last couple of years. The lineup looks pretty good so far but it is lacking any young bands. My favorite would be Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, who are now listed as coheadliner with The Yonder Mountain String Band next month in Minneapolis and Madison. It will be interesting to see who will follow the Sam Bush Band Saturday night as I'm thinking that Salmon's Songs from the Living Room set would be more of an afternoon than closer set.

I have had Brandi Carlisle on full rotation, am stoked to see her coming and hoping for some Grammy’s luck for her tomorrow.

I would love to see Horsehoes and Hand Grenades Maple Al!

Come on Planet Bluegrass, open the next door please.

Dancing and singing in the sunshine here ☀️☀️☀️

I'm sure itching to know who else is going to fill out the roster. I too spend a lot of hours "researching" the artists playing TBF that I'm either completely unfamiliar with, or not familiar with their deeper catalogs. The unknowns that become my favorites post TBF are really some of the highlights of the festival for me. Last year it was the Frigg's and St Paul and the Broken Bones that were unknowns for me who blew me away. Can't wait to find out who else we'll be grooving to come June!

The more I play artists from the line up this year the happier I get.  I’m not kidding, the new Brandi Carlile and the new Greensky are truly outstanding.

The Grammys were fantastic this year. Will Telluride have a Me Too moment and feature more female headliners? Cause, you know there are a few women I’d like to see there. Have I mentioned Alison Kraus lately?

Getting excited, it isn’t too long before we are home in the Canyon, it is nice to have it to look forward to. Still summer here with maybe only six to eight weeks of good beach weather left for us.

With three feet of new snow that followed the cold polar vortex looking forward to some warm Colorado nights next summer. I thought we might have some love from the Planet today. Maybe some last minute negotiations?

Pretty sure Dweezel Zappa is in the lineup this year. That would throw everyone off their lawn chairs.  Medal

We are in the depths of winter in Colorado. Sunny and snow and changing every 5 minutes.

It would be nice for sure and I second that emotion.....I love this and hate this part......I am getting another rash. LOL

I admit it, I’m getting a bit of Festy Fever characterised by constant checking of Forum.

Am going to not check in for at least 24 hours...fingers crossed
