Hi guys - I will be at TBF 19 for the Saturday festivities! My friend and I are so excited for our first TBF experience, however we are trying to figure some things out regarding camping. Camping passes may be outside of our budget, and I was wondering if anyone has tried BLM/dispersed camping during the festival? We are thinking this might be our plan, but also worried dispersed campsites will fill up very fast with other festival goers. If anyone has any experience with this/advice, please let me know!

I would doubt you have too much trouble finding a BLM site, as most TBF campers are looking for PB designated campgrounds. Your biggest issues will be the transportation to and from town. Most the BLM sites that would be available are not within walking distance of town, and all vehicle traffic into town will be blocked come Wednesday of the Festival week. The best part about the PB official campsites that are outside of town is the free shuttle to and from the festival stage, and of course the meeting of new friends that are your campground neighbors.

you might be able to drive your car from a BLM site, park your car in the public parking garage in Mountain Village that morning, then ride the free gondola down to Telluride ?

gondola stops running around 1am so if you catch a NightGrass show, watch your watch ...
