What is the most recent news with the Checkpoints on the highways leading into Telluride? Does anyone know if there were checkpoints last year anywhere?

Keep me posted.

Thanks.

As far as I know, that only happened once several years ago on the road between Dolores and Telluride SH 145.  Planet Bluegrass took the sheriffs department to court and I don't believe it has happened again.  Just to be safe, though, they can use an open nalgene bottle as probable cause to search your car.  It qualifies as an open container, so be careful!

There haven't been any for at least a few years that I know of.
Not since a big fiasco years ago when random cars got searched.
Just obey the speed limit. Don't drink and drive. Don't smoke a bowl. And don't throw anything out of your car. They could be watching you. EEK!
You'll be just fine. Thumbs Up

Yeah, as all alluded to, no checkpoints for at least last two years that I know of.  I DID, however, get pulled over on the road headin' out of T-ride last year one night for 'following too close'. .. The guy in front of me was going like 15 under the limit (I think he was a bit .. tipsy, shall we say.. yet .. I was the one pulled over  LOL).  I was let off with a warning :).   They do patrol that stretch of road on festival nights, so, just be careful .. don't drink and drive (heck, gas is more expensive than beer .. don't drive .. drink! Wink ).
