What a rush that was to see him live with space to move and dance, under the stars and the snow falling. Like a dream. Goosebump city!! Medal

I could do that over and over and over again. THE ONLY time in my entire life I heard myself squeal like that. LOL
 Flower Dang that was sooo very good!

He has a new tour and Album as well and gee I want seconds..... Dr. Love

I've now seen Billy Strings at two festivals this summer (Grey Fox and Thomas Point) and am totally convinced he would blow the top of our favorite box canyon.  He has a CD coming out later this month and I think it's going to generate a lot of excitement.  So hope he comes to Telluride in 2018!

He's unbelievable live.  So much fun and crazy high energy.

1. Dawes. Taylor Goldsmith is an amazing song writer, and while they are definitely not bluegrass, their mix of Americana and folk would be amazing at TBF.
2. Sturgill Simpson. This guy is MADE for festivals like this.

I'm really liking the new band featuring Brittany Haas, Paul Kowert, Jordan Tice and Dominick Leslie.  Hawktail is their name and they've already scored some sweet festy dates for next year.

I think they would please the T-ride crowd with their superior instrumental chops.

Beck and Wilco would still be my top choices of non bluegrass/country acts, though both delve into the folky country aspect at times.
I'm always happy with the regular acts of Hot Rize, Punch Bros, Greensky, Sam Bush, and man was Tim O'Briens set fantastic last year.
Of course I'd be way into an old school Leftover set (especially if they reunited with the Apt.)

 Wave I've said it many times Jeffrey Lewis and Los Bolts should be given a good listening by all festivarians, and given consideration by PB.

Some local Okie acts that are gaining big attention I'd add would be John Fulbright, Paul Benjamin Band, John Moreland, Randy Crouch, Joe Mack, Chris Lee Becker, and Combsy.

and I'd highly suggest getting any of Danny Barnes projects.

John Hiatt is on tour with The Goners.   A 30th anniversary tour featuring Sonny Landreth on slide.  That was my favorite Hiatt era and it would just ROCK TBF.
