Welcome! If you get into Telluride early enough, make sure to come check out Town Park. Find us at Run a Muck and we'll give you a shot that is sure to leave you with a terrible impression of our country!

Have you spent much time at Elevation before? Telluride is right about twice the elevation of the highest point in Scotland, so make sure to hydrate. A banana or two never hurts, either.

When will you be arriving? Like Sugar said, Town Park has fun activities leading up to the start of the festival on Thursday. Depending on when you arrive we can point you to some real fun shenanigans and debauchery! Don't worry, we will go easy on our newbie friends from across the pond! 

Make sure you are prepared for all 4 seasons, seriously. The sun can be very intense during the day (even though the temperature may not seem hot), but cools off quickly when the sun goes bye bye.

Hi folks, I'm arriving in Denver on the 9th, then taking route through Fruita, Monument Valley and Cortez to get to Telluride on Wednesday AM. I've been to the Rockies before, and the Alps, so have a bit of experience of altitude. I will be sure to say hello...and take you up on the shot  Thank you!

I don't want you to have to rush through Colorado, but I do recommend trying to get to Telluride before Wednesday. Most of the fun happens in the several days before the festival.

Welcome to the community!  Kamp Duk Tape has hosted international travelers in the past and if you are so inclined, you could find a Town park ticket (there are some available on the Forum) and we will supply you with a tent and the camping essentials you'd need to fully enjoy the festival from the Town Park campground.   Mary E. Illium is also a wonderful place, and you'll meet loads of wonderful people there as well, but if you would like to join an established group in the on site campground we would make you very welcome.  If this sounds appealing, just get in touch and let us know you're coming and we'll get you all set up with a festi-gear package.

It's an appealing idea, but the tickets on sale all seem to be camping/festival tickets rather than just for the campsite. I'm going to be camping on my way to Telluride, so I'll be at one with my tent by the time I get there  I will be sure to come and say hello! It's just two days till I leave now....very, very excited!!

Hey Moira...Camp Duk Tape...as well as Run a Muck and others...are camping groups in Town Park...so if you can score camping tickets for Town Park you can come and find us. Lots of events happen at these camps starting on Saturday. Like Hot Sugar said...you can see Colorado any time. Hope to meet up and join you in your Crunchy Frog experience

Bill is correct.  There are quite a few large, traditional established camps in Town Park every year.  Kamp Duk Tape has been around since about 2004 and this year will be about 55 people.  We camp in the same spot (hopefully) every year so that we can find our tents after it gets dark and we've had some whiskey.  Our friends at Camp Run-a-Muck are a similar group, just way more "low brow," if you will... 

All of the big  traditional camps welcome weary travelers from abroad and Duk Tape hosted a pair of Brits last year and a newbie from Canada in 2015.  We bring lots of "festival gear" (solar power, kitchens, a bar, coolers, propane campfire, large shelters, extra chairs, etc) that makes our Kamp feel more like home (in the woods). 

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, would be to buy a Town park ticket ($350 for the ticket which includes Town Park camping and 4-day Festival entry) and then you'd have to sell your existing tickets.  So financially it might not be feasible, but there do seem to be plenty of Town Park tickets popping up on the Forum here recently.

And if you don't make the move to Town Park, you'll still have a blast all week/weekend and will make loads of new friends in Ilium and have probably the greatest weekend of your year.  So we aren't twisting your arm, we're just extending the invitation. 

Either way, if you get the chance to come through Town Park on Wednesday or earlier, you won't have to look hard to find Kamp Duk Tape or Camp Run-a-Muck or any of the other big camps.  Everyone is friendly and you'll enjoy every minute no matter where your tent is.

I like to think of us as "sister camps" where Duk Tape is the pretty sister and Run-A-Muck luckily has a good personality.

"Hugs"....sounds to me like a knock down, drag out, battle d'festivaaal      brewing under the new "BIG TOP" between Hooch (gorilla) & Bevin (chicken)?!?! Please get this on the RaM schedule Hippie. I'd bet the "frogs & foot slaves"  would come out of hiding quite early for that main event!
