Wow, Nashville and Scotland....I thought a just having an 11 hour drive from western Nebraska was a long way to come from.  This is pretty cool!

I'm coming in with my friend Caitlin from San Diego, driving across.  I've been trying to get to this festival for a long long time and finally doing it, really stoked!

However, i have my van ready to camp in, days off etc.  But i screwed up and didn't get a vehicle pass, just the camping pass.  Is this going to be a huge issue?!  I'm not sure what to do!?  Help.   I can't find a pass either .

Peace
Austin

Yes, you will need to have a vehicle permit if you want to sleep in your van. There is still a good chance of finding one ether here on the forum. Or trying to find one there. The last one is NOT impossible, and I have seen passes floating around in the campground.

I bought a couple of aluminum replacement tent poles from Cabelas. There only 7 feet long. So I attach them to the side poles on my awning.
Skyrunner, that sounds much better than pvc! Thanks for the tip!

These are good as well for tailgate type spots. Might be difficult at the campground and certainly not allowed inside the festival :)

The flags aren't allowed inside the festival anymore?

Yes, flags are still allowed in the festival.  Cheers I just use expandable tent poles for flag poles. They work well and are allot cheaper than most flag poles on the market. But they are big enough that I doubt I would be allowed into the festival with them.

My name is Jonathan. My brother, David, and I are Driving from Georgia, 24 hours, with our sons in tow. We're first timers. I'm curious as to to how y'all decide what your going to do?? With so many options, you can't see and hear it all.

Hey Jonathon. How old are your sons? My son is coming too with his girlfriend, but he's 20. Anyone else in Mary E got older teenagers, or young twenties kids coming? As far as plans for doing it all, we have for sure do not miss bands, and many we want to check out for the first time. But we'll miss a few, some because we know we don't really care for them, and others just because can't be two places at once. We plan to do quite a bit of outdoor activities in the area beyond festival stuff. And we hope to be a part of many of the pre-festival activities.

Ross, thank you for starting this post.

Myself (Chris), Henry, and Nathan will be arriving Sunday afternoon or Monday morning with a pop-up camper.  We're coming from Arvada, Colorado.  Henry and Nathan are 11 and 12.  Mom (Traci) couldn't get enough time off work so she won't be joining us until Thursday.

First timers.

The boys are stoked, especially for the tarp run.

Are there any good ways to get to telluride from Mary E. prior to the shuttle busses running (say, around 4 am)?

Unfortunately at around 4 am there is not that much going on except for the night security person walking around. Is that for the tarp run? from what I know, the buses will be running in time for you guys to get in for the tarp run. That is one thing I have never really done.
Wave :waveBuuuuuuut, Camp "Sunny Side up" may be looking for a camp runner. We may need to talk.  LOL

Sounds good.  Thanks for the info.

I too was thinking about putting the boys on ice delivery detail, if that's what you meant by camp runner.

Just picked up a solar charger today, and pretty stoked to use it! Outside of all our food and all our booze, most of which we will pick up locally, we are all geared up, packed away and ready for noon on Friday to begin the two day 15 hour journey to Mary E, and the Festival!!!! Skyrunner, you may want to talk to my son and his girlfriend about being tarp runners. I can't speak for them, but I bet they could be bribed! They are 20 and 18 so they could be way into it, not sure!

kmiddl2 had expressed interest in a Mary E Craft Brew share event in Mary E Campground. What if we shoot for around either 3pm on Wednesday as a pre-party for Firstgrass, or a midnight rager post main stage on a night collectively we aren't headed for nightgrass shows. For me Friday is the best midnight rager night. What do yall think? I'd be open to mornings too, but most times I plan to be out of camp by 9am. I'd also be down for Tuesday evening, but wanted to be open for more people coming on Weds.

We'll be bringing about 20 bottles and cans of various sizes from Oklahoma Breweries. About 5 of those I plan on taking to the Town Park Beer share on Tuesday at noon.

If anyone has beers they like from OK you can't get let me know.

I also say no matter what we have a Mary E Pre-firstgrass party, to get to know each other and head up to firstgrass together!

I think we'd be up for a craft-brew share, but we will be rolling in on Tuesday night, and then will be out of camp fly fishing and/or hiking most of the day on Wednesday, pre-FirstGrass. If you guys decide to have a beer share rager one night, we'd be in. We're driving in from Chicago, lots of great brewery choices (beyond the obvious ones). Maybe we even throw a little pickin in to go with the drinkin.

First festival and we're super excited! Looking forward to Brandi Carlile, Lindsay Lou and The Flatbellys, Parker Millsap, and Dispatch, plus getting to know new bands we are unfamiliar with! Also looking forward to meeting all of you Festivarians! Cheers

Still in for craft brew share. Wednesday pre-firstgrass sounds great to me! We'll be riding that morning and will definitely be in need of some good cold brews by then.

So excited to head out on Tuesday after work! Have everything bought but the food and booze! Ready to get festy!
