Hello, I would like to come to the festival for the first time. I have the opportunity on craigslist to buy to four day passes for $600. Is this a good deal at this point? Does anyone know if two tickets will become available later on for a more reasonable price?  Thank you for any insights or advice.

Festivarian code on this forum is to never ask for, OR pay more than face value for Planet Bluegrass tickets.   Flower

It's way too early to panic about tickets, and wallow into the shady depths that is CL, and other scalping outlets, IMHO. Many plans will change, and tickets will start showing up on our wonderful "SHOP" forum. Especially after the NIGHTGRASS LOTTERY which is coming up soon. After those shows sellout, the bartering, and dumping of extras really kicks in. I'd wait.  Cheers

p.s. And if we all refuse to pay more to scalpers as a rule, they'll be dumping them later, as well?

Swander is 100% correct. Never buy anything from a scalper. Plenty of tickets will show up here by the end of April. And maybe even earlier. If you look here, this is the PB refund policy. http://www.bluegrass.com/telluride/rules.html#Refunds
People that want refunds from PB have to turn their tickets in by March 10th. PB will usually put those tickets back out on sale on the web site, and will make an announcement when they do so. So save that extra $$$ for the beer you will be buying all your new friends. Cheers

Thanks Swander and Buckeye for the information! Wave  I am sorry if I breached a code of ethics!   EEK! New to all things Tulleride.  I think I will go ahead and wait and check back on the forum over the next few months.
It seems a little more legit than Craigslist anyway.
Do you suggest reserving campground spaces before getting the tickets, in case campsites fill up?

Welcome!  If you're planning to camp at an official Planet Bluegrass campground, there are no reserved spots.  It's open space and spots are first come, first serve.  It's it not a traditional campground with designated sites.

FWIW, I think 4 day passes will be fairly easy to come by as we get closer to the festival date.  Fear not - you'll get your pass and won't have to pay over face for it.

Welcome, it was a great idea to come here before doing anything else.

OK, first do some research and then ask questions that didn't cover- if you will be camping, check out Planet Bluegrass's Telluride BGF camping section click here.  Check out other parts of the website that relate to Telluride also.

Depending on when you can arrive (campgrounds open on different days before fest) and the kind of experience you want, figure out what campground you want to be in.  That will determine what to keep an eye out for (you'll find it, don't worry).  Town Park and Warner Field have camping and festival tickets combined and are immediately adjacent to the festival grounds, other campgrounds don't and may have varying requirements for day or 4 day tickets and require riding a shuttle to and from the festival grounds.

Also check out the Town Park Virgin thread above.

Also, before you buy any 4-day tickets that DO NOT include camping, make sure you have at least some idea of where you might be staying.  If you have friends in town or other people you know who are renting a condo or hotel room then a 4-day "festival only" ticket is all you need.

However, lodging rates are fairly high in Telluride in June and if you don't have a place to stay lined up you could find yourself in a pickle if you buy 4-day tickets w/out camping and then have to scramble for an expensive lodging option.  If you can handle a fairly lively campground scene with no quiet hours, then you should be looking for Town Park or Warner field tickets, especially if picking and jamming with others is a large part of the draw for you.

Wave Hey Marg, many of us here can/will help you find what you seek. I believe that if you make some more postings (5?), more of the forum will be made available to you. You could then "PM" (personal message) one of us for some clarification of your desires.   Cheers

Do not let this thread become a place to buy or sell tickets or the entire thread will be removed.

All ticket requests should be made in the "Shop" section of the forum.

Guests cannot see this section so only members can view and post for ticket sales.
