Here's a new Betty Crocker recipe for Hooch, bacon infused vodka.

Yo!!!  I actually made bacon-infused vodka about 8 years ago, but did it a bit differently than the posted recipe.  It was not nearly as popular with the festivarians as I had hoped because, without extensive filtering, it resembles lemonade *gag*.  I'd be up for trying again because it was really fine for Bloody Mary's!

Speaking of which, is there any Bloody Mary party this year??  Anyone?  Anyone?  Bueller?  Bueller?

Try the one above.  When I did it, I literally soaked several whole pieces of bacon in vodka for about 2 weeks, then put it in the freezer to congeal the fat, then filtered.  Still came out hazy yellow.

Their's looks good and clear, but I wonder if it has much flavor with only 6 hours of soaking 2 spoonfuls of bacon goodness. Think I'll  give a test batch a go and see. Doesn't seem like enough bacon fat though. Maybe a cup of fat per bottle instead of just a couple tablespoons will amp it up properly.

I was wondering about Bloody Marys too. I'm in ... is it usually Monday morning?

Could do in conjunction with some kind of other breakfast festivities, watching penguin relay races etc.
