 Wave Hello Festivarians-

I am so happy to be attending my 6th TRide Bluegrass Fest! So, I have always camped in TP, but this year, me and my fellow Team Success got shut out of the lottery.  huh Anyways, we are considering camping at the high school, because we have a group. But, I just noticed the campground is dry.

I am hoping some people can give me advice on this? How serious is this rule? We would be at the festival most daylight hours, and are very respectful neighbors, but just wondering if we would get in trouble for having a causl beer at camp?

We would really like to make TP or Warner work, but would be in need of 6 passes, and while I have not lost hope (!!!) we are exploring all our options.

All help would be appreciated! Thank you. <3 <3 <3

Camp Run a Muck

My understanding is that the rule is pretty strict. Since the campground is on Telluride High School property, the no drugs or alcohol rule is incredibly important. If the town starts to see a real problem at the campground, even just casual beverages, they could decide not to let The Planet use the high school for camping or concerts anymore. However, I have not camped at the High School, so my understanding of this rule may be way off.

Wave In days of yore, prior to my TP lore, I once camped at the high school and loved it. If you're drinking from a "thermo", nobody will come around and check what's in it...but you certainly can't have cans'n'bottles out in plain sight, or get loud and rowdy. (like I obviously do now...just ask that gorilla that scared the bejeezus out of me @TT last year) It is considered the "quiet/family" camping zone. I like being in town, fersure. I would be @ Fest all day, night, and Nightgrass, too, so really just going to the tent to sleep, and for that the THS campsite is pretty great. Don't let it stop any planning for TBF43!   Thumbs Up
(I would think you could get the TP or WF passes you desire, tho  Wink)

Cool. I was just wondering about this myself.

Where do you park your car if you camp at the HS?

Thanks for the info!

You know, there are always lots to TP tickets available as we draw closer to fest. If you have been to TP 5 times, I can't imagine you are going to be happy at the High School.......unless of course you are one of those people that value a good night sleep! Pirate

The rules are in fact firm at the High School.

The fact is, it's a bigger law governing school zones/ properties than it is any kind of "rule" we made.

We use lots of different parking lots in and around town. It all depends on when you arrive, and how may cars we've had to park prior to that. You could be parked right in town nearby, or you might end up in our larger parking areas up in Mountain Village. There will be someone at the campground who will direct you towards parking once you get everything unloaded.

Cheers
