I saw Rhiannon Giddens last night in Boulder. I can't say enough good things about her performance: spellbinding, captivating, mesmerizing, stunning. Her operatic training is very evident in her stage presence, body language, facial expression, and composure, to say nothing of the dynamic and dramatic range of her voice. She was backed by the Chocolate Drops and an excellent rhythm section that created a powerful sonic atmosphere around every song. Don't miss her set on the main stage on Thursday.
